Meet the Herd! Cowgirl Amanda is one of the incredible Equine Therapists that make Camp Casey’s programs possible. 🐴🌟

Amanda has had a passion for horses since she was young. Growing up, she spent her time after school working on a farm and was responsible for keeping a horse active and in shape, she ended up falling in love with riding. After graduating from Adrian College with a bachelors in Business Management she entered the world of Franchise Development, but was able to spend her down time learning the art of Ranch Sorting. Now, working full time as the Franchise Marketing Director at Lightbridge Academy, Amanda appreciates every opportunity she gets to spend with Camp Casey. Amanda enjoys staying active in sports, spending time with her dog, hiking, and traveling as often as she can.

Thanks for horsin’ around with us, Cowgirl Amanda! YEEHAW!!

We'd like give a huge horsey hug and "Welcome!" to Camp Casey's new Ranch Hand, Cowgirl Ava! 🐴🌟

Ava has been riding horses since 3 years old and started competing in barrel racing and western equitation in her early teens. She is currently apprenticing under a trainer while getting her degree in Equine Studies from the University of Guelph. She also coaches for local middle school and high school equestrian teams.

In addition to wishing to share her deep love for horses, Ava has experienced severe chronic health issues and credits horses with changing her life in a time when she was bedridden. For Ava, the opportunity to participate in a program that brings horses life-changing love to others' lives is a dream come true.

Howdy, Partna’!

Camp Casey is a nonprofit organization that provides cost-free horseback riding programs to children with cancer, sickle cell anemia, and aplastic anemia and their families. An entirely mobile organization, Camp Casey delivers happiness on horseback through three programs: Horsey House Calls, Cowboy Camp Outs, and Outlaw Outings.

Camp Casey is inspired by a young girl who never let her illness stop her from doing what she loved: horseback riding. Casey would have loved for other children and families to experience the joy that horses once have her, and Casey’s legacy lives on as we enable children to apply the strength gained from our program to fight against cancer.
