My coworkers will tell you that’s my Love language and when I cook for you like I always say the seasoning you can’t quite put your finger on can’t be got in a store because it’s Sprinkled with a whole lot of LOVE 💕 Collard’s cleaned and frozen ✔️Sweet potatoes cleaned and frozen ✔️Hope to see you there!!💓

Feeling nostalgic miss my 2 Best friends 💕

I was so blessed to have these two beautiful women in my life… my grandma Carrie Torrence and my mother Constance King, they taught me almost everything I know about cooking! My mom would have me and my sister Robin in the kitchen cutting up collards picking beans shucking corn and everything else. She was determined to teach us how to be self sufficient. I am a military brat so when I had a taste for something my Grandma Carrie cooked I would pick up the phone and call her. She taught me how to make her famous macaroni and cheese over the phone and her homemade gravy. She would say go get a block of rat cheese from the meat house and grate it for the macaroni and cheese. If you don’t know what rat cheese is ask your Grandma! Lol! I’ve cheated with the ingredients over the years but it still taste good it’s just something about that rat cheese that takes me back to Winston-Salem and watching her throw down in her Kitchen multi-tasking and still able to have the BEST conversations and advice, she made you feeL like you were the only grand but in truth she made everyone feel that way we could hardly wait for Sunday for the real life just like the movie Soul Food that’s when all the family came to Mama’s house oh yeah we all called her Mama not Grandma. We all came for the best soul food and homemade biscuits and it was always enough for whoever just happened to show up she would make me an extra big one because I Loved them so much!! I’m getting in my feelings y’all 🥲 if you can’t quite place the seasoning in my food and you’re trying to figure it out it’s not sold in Walmart or any store it’s seasoned with LOVE!
