Chief District Court Judge Toni King established and preside over NC’s 1st Human Trafficking Court, which helps adults and juveniles. Through this platform, she and her team of partners have helped individuals escape the horrible life of human trafficking and heal. Based on grant funding from our government and private donors, they’ve been able to pay for housing, transportation, clothing, food and inpatient/outpatient treatment for victims. The WC team has hosted trainings for our community members near and far and provided certified training at National Conferences for law enforcement, judges, ADAs, PDs and therapeutic providers. This year, our WC will provide National certified training for school psychologists, probation officers, medical providers and an investigative social worker to further expand its reach of providing knowledge and awareness. Thank you Cumberland County for your continued support, the incredible WC team and to our community partners.
