Volunteered at the old stomps today for Teacher Appreciation Week. Gave some Douglas Byrd staff some much needed love. The last time I was in this building was when the final bell rang in English class on June 15th 1980. Soooo long ago. It so much different but still old Byrd. 🦅

Good afternoon folks. Hope everyone is doing well. Today I’d like to address the difference between 2 services we offer. Reflexology and the Foot Fix.
Reflexology is based on the principle certain points in the feet, ears and hands that connected particular organs and systems through energetic pathways called meridians. It’s relaxing, energetic modality that helps open the meridians and helps promote healing.
Foot Fix is our therapeutic foot massage where we address problem muscles in the feet, ankles and lower legs. Most of the time, it’s very deep work and very uncomfortable. But with results. We use it to treat plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis or just sore, tired feet. Because, when your feet hurt, it alters your gate making the rest of your muscles in your legs and hips move differently causing tension and soreness. Yes, the Foot Fix is not a relaxing massage but it does provide relief, with almost no soreness/tenderness afterwards.

Folks ask what is our most popular aromatherapy blend that we use? By far it’s our energy/clarity blend. We use several times a day. We are literally walking defuses and why the shop has an overwhelming smell of lemongrass. it’s a blend I put together 20yrs ago and really proud of it. Tweet it a little bit last year by cutting the peppermint and adding spearmint. Added a little sweetness to it and is a coolant, because we work hard and get really hot. Hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Energy/Clarity
8 drops-Lemongrass
8 drops- Lemon
3 drops-Rosemary
2 drops- Peppermint
2 drops- Spearmint

We do a lot of aromatherapy here. I have 100+ hours of education in essential oils. Love creating and coming up with new ideas and formulas. Use a variety of brands but not big into the MLM’s. We use them for all sorts of ailments and conditions and some just for fun. A lot of times , we’ll allow the clients to help choose what they want in aromatherapy blends for their services. A lot of times they just tell us their needs and we go from there. It’s a wonderful addiction to the service.

This is Serious, ya know, Serious Black. He’s a service dog in training and big sweet boy, who loves attention and butt scratches. He comes to see me twice a month. Makes my day.

Hey folks. Just want to give everyone a heads up. We’re in the middle of having our HVAC system replaced and with the temperatures getting in the 70’s/80’s this, it’s gonna be hot in the shop. If it’s not replaced by Thursday, when it’s supposed be in the mid 80’s, we’ll going to close and reschedule. It’ll be too much for us. Sorry folks. Beyond our control. Thanks for understanding.

I’m pleased to announce a new addition to our staff. Hayat Hakem comes to us from the Pacific Collage of Health and Science in NYC. She brings an array Eastern modalities to our therapeutic regimen . A native of Syria, who grew up in Germany and a veteran of the US Army. We’re very excited to have her with us and look forward to picking her brain on the services she provides. She’s also a yoga instructor. Our second one here, along with Kyle Jackson. We’re very excited about showing her off. Welcome Hayat!! Book an appointment with Hayat and witness her magic.

We now offer Manual Lymphatic Drainage services for postoperative, post injury and wellness benefits. You can receive these in either 30or 60 mins sessions. Me and April are also offering 30min Lymphatic Drainage for the face. Along with some homework exercises, can help tighten skin and eliminate puffiness in your face. Well folks, we got a lot going on at this shop. We had water damage a few weeks back and are starting on the mitigation and repairs. Things are going to be a bit out of sorts for few weeks and may have to close for a few days. Your patience is greatly appreciated. So let me tell you about my most excellent staff. There’s 5 of us now and I couldn’t be more excited about this bunch. On top of the of being in the top 5 best massage business in Fayetteville, the dedication to customer service, striving to learn more and seriously, the best hands, collectively, I’ve known. And, we have so much fun together. Never laughed
so much in my life.

Christina Jenks- the newest member to the staff. Graduate of Miller-Mott. Taking it all in like a sponge. Her approach to the humane body is tactile. Wonderful Deep Tissue therapist and is also a Cross Fit instructor. The woman is a beast and a sweetheart. So fortunate to have her.

Kyle Jackson- Is BRILLIANT!!!! His specialty is Trigger Point . He will pick those things apart. One of the quickest learners I’ve ever met. Aromatherapy is also one of his gigs. Helps keep this old lady on her toes. Kyle is also a local yoga instructor and very well known in that circle. His very present here has been unmatched. We love us some Kyle!!!

Angel Joplin- She’s an old friend of mine. We started our careers together at a local spa. Just ended a stint at Miller-Mott as an instructor and decided to join me. Couldn’t be more excited to have her experience and knowledge. Clients just love her and expertise. Can’t name her specialty, too many. Angela’s another walking medical dictionary and a good friend, who helped a sister out.

April Burdge- last but definitely not least. The very energy that lifted me and my shop out of the COVID funk and we’re not looking back. April has a big swooping motion to her deep tissue , that covers a lot. Coupled with cupping, has many many returning clients in very little time. She’s learned to find the smallest triggers causing the biggest problems. I can’t appreciate her enough.

This team together, has reached new heights in client care and it’s only just getting going. I love each and every one of them. Thank you , guys. You mean so much to me.
