Hey there! I'm trying to help my students get to Carnegie Hall in the spring! They're running their individual fundraisers through this same company, but I thought I'd help! Join us on Tuesday, October 3rd at 7:30pm in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center for a night of Gospel music and Spirituals‼️ The concert is free and open to the public!

Third floor of music building looks pretty awesome! Glad to have been around this summer to play a part in the re-design of the choir room! Can't wait to welcome our students into our improved space! There was even a Dr. Justin R Hunter sighting!

It's time to audition for the University of Arkansas Inspirational Chorale! The IC has an exciting year ahead, including some unique travel opportunities, singing with the Razorback Marching Band at one of our home football games, and a performance in Carnegie Hall! Lots of great things in store!

Auditions for Inspirational Chorale (Section One) are approximately 10 minutes long.

In preparation for the audition, students are expected to:

1. Sing about 30 seconds of a pop, Broadway, or Gospel tune of their choice and prepare to sing it a ca****la. (I want to hear your "belt" voice!)

2. Sight-read a single line of sheet music with accuracy and musicality.

3. Complete a series of pitch matching exercises.

*Auditions for Inspirational Chorale will be held August 17-20, 2023, in Dr. Murdock's office, which is Room 225 in the Music Building.

Join us on March 30 at 7:30pm in the Faulkner Performing Arts Center as we intertwine music, acting, and dancing into an artistic retelling of the resurrection of Jesus Christ!!

We all long for things to be set right. And though we’re tempted to think of justice and peace in individual, familial, or tribal terms, there’s a deeper yearning for every tribe, tongue, and nation to experience together the meeting place of mercy and truth and witness justice and peace, ushering in what the Hebrew scriptures refer to as shalom.

Shalom is a state of pervasive peace, wholeness or completion that will ultimately include all of creation. A time and place where people of all walks of life will truly be seen and valued as equal.

In the midst of our many divisions, we dream of a reconciled world to come—a world of peace, joy, and love without end—for which we can confidently hope, into which we’re presently invited to experience a foretaste of, and toward which we may shine as light for the nations. May this hope continue to bring us together in spite of social, cultural, and political differences.

Our hope for this song is that it might help clarify and purify our longings for justice and peace and inspire us in our work together toward this utopian Shalom, and that it may come sooner, rather than later!
