It’s Day 10 of our “10 Things to Know Before School” and today we wanted to remind of the first day of the new school year beginning tomorrow. Please remember school starts promptly at 8:15. Be mindful of the parking lot traffic patterns for entry and exit.

It’s Day 9 of our “10 Things to Know Before School” and today we wanted to remind our 7th grade families about 7th grade orientation on Tuesday. 7th grade orientation is Tuesday, August 13th at 6:30 pm in the Youth Room of the MS/HS building.

It’s Day 8 of our “10 Things to Know Before School” and today we wanted to remind you all about Open House on Monday. Open House is Monday, August 12th, from 9:00-1:00 and 5:00-8:00 for all grades. Elementary Parents, please check your email for an invitation to sign up for Open House with your child’s teacher. 7th-12th grade students will not make an appointment for Open House. It is a drop-in for them.

🔵7th-grade students will have a separate orientation on Tuesday, August 13th, at 6:30 in the high school lunchroom. Please be prompt - this is a meeting, not a drop-in.

🔵7th-grade students do not need to attend both orientations.

It’s Day 6 of our “10 Things to Know Before the Start of School” feature and today we want to discuss the LCA Spirit Rock. The Spirit Rock is a great way to send a message for all to see! Congratulate your favorite student on an accomplishment, wish a student a Happy Birthday, show appreciation to your favorite teacher or staff member, celebrate a team win, or let everyone know how much you love your school. The rock is available to reserve for the day. Reservations will be made only to a parent or guardian of a current student, a relative of a current student, and staff of LCA for their use and enjoyment.

Our gym floor is shining and ready, thanks to our amazing maintenance team! As we gear up for the upcoming volleyball season and PE classes, we’re grateful for their hard work in ensuring our facilities are top-tier.

Today's fun fact of the day is the lunch menu for the month of August will be available to use on the FACTS Family Portal on the first day of school. If you are a new family or just haven't ordered through the Family Portal yet we have included some instructions below:

- In your Internet browser, navigate to https://factsmgt.com and click Family Log in.
- Select FACTS Family Portal.
- Type your school's district code, username, and password.
- When Family Portal displays, click Menu.jpg if the left navigation menu does not display.
- Click Student, then select Lunch.
- Click +CREATE WEB ORDER.
- Click the student name for which you wish to place an order.
- Click the date to place an order.
- Type the number of items to order for the student in the Quantity column. The Total column displays the cost.
- Repeat for all dates and all students. The Grand Total is listed at the bottom.
- Click Order Items. The charges will now display for the student on their Family Portal portal to be paid on the Financial screen.

It’s Day 3 of our “10 Things to Know Before the Start of School” feature, and today we want to discuss school office hours. The school offices this week are 9:00–3:00pm from August 5th-9th, except for Tuesday. Tuesday's office hours are from 10:30–3:00 pm.

**Are you excited for the upcoming ⚽️ season?**

Conditioning and skills training are still ongoing until school begins on August 14th from 5:30–7 p.m. at the soccer field. Once school starts, practices will be at the normal times of 3:45–6 p.m.

It is highly recommended for everyone, particularly any players who wish to be considered for captain or leader positions. (Remember, there is no age or grade requirement for this position, and ⚽️ is open to all 6th–12th grade boys and girls.)

If players aren’t able to attend due to pre-planned trips or events, please let Coach Smith know by phone or text at 910-853-4747.

Planners will be available for purchase on Open House, August 12th in the Elementary Cafeteria and Science Lab in the MS/HS building. The cost is $7.00 each.
