Much of our staff has had COVID. I have it and the Director of Operations does as well. We aren’t taking days off but working in our individual offices in the COVId Clinic. We value you and hate results are taking so long. -Dr. Clinton

Samples from 1/10 are being run now. If you have not received results from completed dates, please email [email protected] the correct email address (include name, DOB, email and phone). We have hundreds that never had email addresses on forms. Some without emails or phone numbers. Few could have typos and need to be corrected. Legibility is also an issue with others. Thanks.

Please write clearly on paperwork and include an email address for results. We have over 100 every day without an email address to receive results. Some have things written but penmanship is not exactly legible. This delays results for everyone since staff is busy calling all of these people or mailing results. Thank you.

COVID continues to hit our ranks. New lab and data entry hires started. Goal today is to finish 1/7-1/10. May not get through all of 1/10 today but that’s the goal. Watch for emails from LiveHealth.

Still working through samples from last week. Thought we could catch up this weekend but COVID-19 decimated staff. Some exhausted staff also took a day off. We are sorry.

Big thanks to Greg Buckingham who drove to Maryland last Friday night and is headed there again right now so we don't have a delay in getting things done! The lab supplier informed us that it may take a week to get supplies mailed out when it usually takes a day. Greg offered to head up tonight so he is at their door when they open!

PHONE 910-229-2006 if the main phone number of 910-484-1210 is still not working. Techs have been called each of the past three days. We may throw the entire "new" system away and start over. This is not exactly what we had in mind when we upgraded the phone system and added lines.

Thousands of reports will be going out later tonight. Everyone is working late to get things done. With almost half our staff being out with covid over the past two weeks, the experienced people and the new hires are stepping up. We realize this is super important and are very sorry things haven't been quicker. (Dr. Clinton)

Problem solved! Reagants will be picked up so labs can be completed this weekend!

UPDATE: The demand has outpaced supplies. All our vendors ran out of rapid tests and a key component to run all of the remaining lab tests. If you have a critical need for a lab result (surgery or travel this weekend or Monday) please contact us directly so Dr. Clinton can make sure the lab tries to pull the sample. We apologize for this inconvenience. Remain on quarantine pending results. Alternate solutions are being sought.

COVID Billing Update:
Insurances are billed above what they pay because we don't know who will pay what amounts. Some pay the Medicare rate, some pay 150% Medicare rates, some pay 250% Medicare rates, some pay 200% Medicare rates, some pay more but aren't a percentage of anything. HRSA is for uninsured and pays right around or at the Medicare rates. We have our billing company bill at 300% Medicare rates (that's what we have instructed) BUT we write off anything that isn't covered by insurance or HRSA (uninsured). We accept all payments from insurances as payment in full. If someone is insured but their insurance does not cover it, we still write it off. People receive invoices just so they know to let us know if they have different insurance if it wasn't provided. Invoices are also automatically sent while we wait on insurances to respond.
If we are out of network with your insurance, we still accept whatever they reimburse. We never want you to cover the difference. This is always written off.
We have a lot of new staff members who don't understand the billing process. That's why only those who understand how it works and can look things up properly are to address it with patients. I don't want someone telling a patient they owe a bunch of money without realizing they actually don't. More workers being trained weekly so there should always be someone to talk to.
Overall we have been reimbursed around 15% of the amounts billed. The rest is written off.

We are now offering COVID monoclonal antibody infusions at 5085 Morganton Road #100. We have 20 infusion chairs. Only have 68 treatments available tomorrow. Another 150 coming. DM contact info to schedule if positive or exposed with risk factors.

ALL results through this weekend have been reported. There are a handful that require re-extraction and will follow later today. Results were sent via Crelio Health. If someone did not receive results, please email [email protected] (include date tested, name, DOB, email and phone).

All results are completed and with PhD for interpretation. She had commitments on Sunday. Results will follow as soon as she verifies each.

ALL PCR results have gone to the PhD to interpret (this includes through yesterday). A few inconclusive outliers have to be run again. All results should follow later tonight.

9/15 part one of two is to the PhD to interpret.

We are working very hard to finish testing all of the specimens received. A shortage in lab supplies last week resulted in a huge backlog of samples since it combined with a dramatic surge in testing. It was a worst case scenario and we are very sorry for this unfortunate timing. We have always provided results between 24-48 hours after testing since the pandemic started 18 months ago and plan to resume this turnaround time next week.

We increased the availability of rapid antigen testing in anticipation of the slower PCR results. We hope this helped some but realize we prefer the reliability of the PCR results just as does most of the community.

Staff has worked tirelessly to eliminate the backlog. We anticipate completing all samples by the end of the weekend. Lab results will be emailed out as they become available. If you do not receive results, please email [email protected]. We will be happy to look for them late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

The results will be in an email from Crelio Health. This is a service used by the lab to securely deliver results. It will not come directly from Haymount Urgent Care.

1:00AM UPDATE: PCR almost completed for 9/15 then goes to the PhD for interpretation.
Extractions almost done for 9/16 and will be ready to plate. Once plated it goes in the PCR machine. 9/17 and 9/18 will follow

9/14 and earlier results have been released. Few stragglers have issues with emails that need to be corrected/clarified. Four samples from 9/14 are being re-extracted because they were inconclusive. Remaining dates are in various stages of completion: extraction, PCR, interpretation, emailing. The lab staff is still there and says they plan on staying until they finish.

Lab staff is working through the weekend to get caught up with the huge backlog from not having reagants delivered as ordered last week. We also found out that 1200 completed labs did not have results sent out from the new “automated” system! We are going through each of them to fix whatever is wrong. Some people may receive calls if emails were kicked back. Some emails are very hard to read on the papers. We are sorry for these horrible delays and anticipate returning to our efficient service shortly. 9/13 was just to the PhD to interpret. -Dr. Clinton

It has just come to my attention that the NEW system we implemented starting 8/28 that does automatic reporting of results had to have a "submit" box checked by the PhD to send reports after she finished the analysis. Staff was not aware that the box wasn't checked so many of the results remained "unsent". They are all being corrected now.
