Belleville Area EMS is excited to announce that Joshua Wescott has been hired as our department's first full time Advanced EMT. Josh is a familiar face at Belleville Area EMS, having served our department as both a volunteer and a part time staff member since he first joined us in 2007. As a full-time staff member, Josh will work a rotating schedule on our ambulance.
Josh has been active in EMS for 24 years and is an EMS Instructor with both Madison College and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. Josh had previously worked in the office of the Dane County Executive since 2007.
"Being able to help people in the community you raised your kids in, working with people who are authentic, and you genuinely enjoy being around is the closest one gets to a dream job. It’s an honor to come home and serve the Belleville community with this new role," Wescott said.
We're looking forward to continuing to work with Josh to strengthen our team here at Belleville Area EMS!

The training focuses on teaching people how to stop uncontrolled bleeding while they wait for help to arrive.
DCEM staff assisted with translating the presentation for several Spanish-speakers participating in the course, ensuring they would also have access to this life-saving training.
