Diné Healers Relief

I receive shipments of turkey feathers. The feathers come from a turkey farm owned by a trusted friend's family. I currently have one box of feathers from a whole bird.

I'd like to give it to a traditional medicine person or healer, as soon as possible. The only thing I ask is that I hand over directly please, meaning I won't give them to someone to give to someone else. Thank you. Ahéheeʼ.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: there have been winter care boxes & supplies going out to healers in the past month. Now that Diné Healers Relief must relocate from Taala Hooghan Infoshop to a new space, we are scrambling to distribute more winter care boxes & essential items immediately.

I am also looking for a small space to rent temporarily so that this important work can continue. At this point everything is self-funded & I am working with a couple of friends who are helping to move items & find some answers to recent changes & growth.

ISO: URGENT support. Diné Healers Relief has been asked to provide water for a gathering of Diné medicine people & healers to conduct offerings for rain. This is needed by tomorrow, Tues 06/22. I am seeking donations of water, food & most importantly someone willing to haul it with me to a location about 80 miles east of Flagstaff.

Thank you, ahéhee'. We set up two Diné haatałii over the weekend for a couple of months. When gratitude, appreciation & tears of joy are expressed, the time & effort is all worthwhile. This volunteer work has been a source of strength for me throughout this pandemic.

I just delivered two cords of wood to a Diné medicine woman. This is such critical, essential work. I don't hesitate to volunteer my time to do this. One year & still going!! Thank you to all my supporters!!

Táala Hooghan Infoshop, host to Kinłani Mutual Aid, Diné Healers Relief, and Masks for the People.

Since 2007 we've been holding it down as one of the only (sometimes the only) radical Indigenous spaces in so-called US. We've faced lots of challenges and growing pains with collectives composted and then new beginnings. We're more focused on what we orient as "conflict infrastructure" these days.

I just met my firewood crew, Ron, who is another lone wolf like me. I handed off some boxes of dry & canned food, PPE & supplies to deliver along with an emergency load of wood to a Diné haatałii (medicine man).

This is just a quick update, most of the time I am too busy to post everything my crew & get done. We're constantly in direct action & we are not about the "selfies" here...just getting help & relief to where it's needed.

Amidst this winter, Diné Healers Relief continues to get supplies to our medicine people & healers. It took 3 days straight to prepare a big delivery to 3 medicine men/haatałii. It's getting picked up this afternoon!

We are making deliveries within the next week to 3 more cov*d+ Diné medicine people & healers. 😢

I just placed an order for some organic soups, I'm sure they will appreciate these, I'll do whatever I can do support their wellness & healing. Thank you for your contributions, appreciate you all.

During the summer, my oldest son & I, we learned how to make these handwashing stations at Kinlani (Flagstaff) Mutual Aid. We were able to provide about 8 Diné traditional practioners with these, along with PPE. When it gets warm again we will provide more of these for sure!!

Nice & organized, all sanitized & prepped to pack boxes for our Diné healers & medicine people. I have no idea how many boxes I've sent out since April, it has to be in the hundreds somewhere.....

Food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, paper goods & PPE made their way to Diné healers & medicine people. It took four of us to get 25 boxes total out there, along with firewood!

Quick update: Diné Healers Relief is in full force. We had to support only those who are cov*d+ because of a funding shortage but through the sharing of the Winter Needs flier, we can now actively support all medicine people & healers again.

In these times, we all need healing & we are all capable of receiving & giving it. Since May 2020, Diné Healers Relief has been part of a more extensive network of solidarity-based support, uniting against already on-going struggles, which only intensified in the face of a global pandemic.

Indigenous life ways are deeply rooted in nature. Healers are those who have awareness within the interconnectedness of life how we can repair, revitalize, rebalance & reconnect those relationships that our ancestors & we have always had with the Earth, Sky, the Universe & our non-human relatives.

It is through contributions, gifts & most importantly, the redistribution & sharing of resources that I have been able to give support, healing & relief this far into this current pandemic.

As we head into what is typically the coldest part of the winter season, again, I choose to be a voice & advocate for the very people I support & what their needs are.

I have been directly assisting traditional medicine people & healers who have cov*d, for the past two weeks. This makes me sad, but also is the reason Diné Healers Relief has been at the frontlines since April.
