At the very beginning of Next Step Prosthetics, we met with Alexandra to find out what she wanted from a local practice, and her ideas helped shape who we are today.

The monthly support group was just one idea that has blossomed to something bigger than we had even imagined. She helped so many amputees and family members find community, support, friendships and more. She pushed through it all - treatments, highs and lows, 5K races, Turkey Trots, extreme ropes courses and all of the hair colors ;) - and made it a priority to live her best life.

Alexandra lost her battle recently and leaves behind a family, and a legacy…never to be forgotten.

Returning to your previous level of activity after an amputation looks different for everyone. For some it’s going on walks with their dog, returning to work, hikes, friends, etc. For others it’s using only one wheel to ride a motorcycle while standing on the seat flying down the freeway in a thunderstorm. 🤣🤣.
