I am honored to be asked to share my story of my experience when I attended the summer I graduated from Powers and started as a college student, as a former Early Childhood Education professor and past faculty with FMCC at Mott for their 100 centennial celebration. Receiving my associates degree's from MCC was an amazing start to my education as I continued at the University of Michigan with my Bachelors degree and Masters degree. If I had to go back and do it all over again, I would continue the exact same path starting at Mott Community College!

In 1919, 650,000 people died from the Spanish Flu. One Hundred years later, 1,000,000 people died due to Covid-19 ravaging the United States. While there were similarities, there were some striking differences in the government response, medical treatment and demographics of the fatalities.
