We did a thing on Monday!! I am sooooo excited to see what AYS MEDIA and Randy Branch Media create out of the video footage they captured on Monday! The first video they did for me over 3 years ago was amazing but it was time for a level up since I am in my own space now and my hair is longer 😂😂😂😂 I will let you know what the target release date is so you can see it with me!! Plus Cash and Randy are so cool. They even joined in the dance class!!

Home is where the heart is. Home is where you dream. Home is where you are vulnerable. Home is where you learn more about yourself. Home is what you create. Home is a reflection of the love you hold in your heart.

My first studio was home. I loved how beautiful it was. I loved that when people first walked in they felt love in the space and saw the beautiful floor. I love that they saw themselves in the mirrors gifted to me by my brother Badi Ellis that were mounted and installed with the help of Mike Branham. Every single memory I have of this space is positive and full of love. I saw people grow into a deeper understanding of themselves. I saw people's confidence increase. I saw the seeds of friendship be planted and blossom. It was the best move for me to see my dream come to reality. What was in my head and heart made real and concrete. It was beautiful.

For growth as a business it was not the best move. The space was small. It was not the best location to attract people. It was hard to get to and hard to find. I have done a long and exhaustive search for another studio of my own closer to town and have not quite found my forever home. For all of these reasons I transitioned back to collaborating with others and using their spaces closer to Florence.

if there is anything I have learned in this process it is this, live in prayer and follow your heart. The reason I was there was not to grow monetarily or in client numbers. The reason I was there was to see what is possible with careful planning and that what I had envisioned for years was already a reality. Now I know exactly where I am headed. I know what I want and am now better positioned to make that happen.

I was able to do all of this in the least scary way. I lost no money. Mistakes made had little to no impact on my organization or business. This is the ingenuity of business incubators and I am happy I was at the Gould Business Incubator.

So I have officially moved out and am transitioning into a dance studio that is larger and more accessible.

I am grateful to God for showing me that my dream was His and I trust that I will find a forever home for Aroha Afro Latin Dance and Aroha Arts Collective: An Arts and Social Action Initiative.
