I just received the decision from the Alabama Supreme Court that affirmed our jury verdict in a will contest case that I won for my very deserving clients last spring. The defendant appealed. The Lauderdale County jury got it right, and the Alabama Supreme Court got it right.

The Colbert County Courthouse will remain closed on Thursday, 1/18/24 but will open on Friday, 1/19/24.

FYI, had to do this in Dec 2022 when a pipe froze inside my house. Thankfully it worked and the pipe didn’t burst.

If you have a pipe that freezes (you’ll know it’s frozen if no water will come out of the faucet), put a space heater in the room where the frozen pipe is and close the doors into the room so it can really heat up the space. Open doors under sinks and open shower curtains if it’s a shower/tub pipe that freezes to let the heat in to help with thawing. You can also use a hair dryer on a pipe under a sink. Be sure to KEEP THE FAUCET TO ITS ON POSITION during thawing.

To help protect your pipes from freezing in the first place, keep cabinet doors open under sinks so heat can reach pipes. And keep a small STREAM (not drip) of water running from both hot and cold sides.
