HUGE THANK YOU to our monthly partners and everyone who made this year’s Golf and Gala a success. We had a great time playing and laughing together, but most of all, we raised money to continue doing what we do - enhancing the lives of kids and families - all across the country. One of our Playmakers Chase at Rio Americano (Sacramento) had his team paint pumpkins with the kids on his campus with developmental differences. He also gave the kids a Playmaker bracelet (their uniform) and they now raise them up when they pass in the hallways.
He told me the kid that he painted with was blind and I asked him what that was like and here was his answer. (Get your Kleenex ready) He said it was great, he closed HIS eyes and they painted the same pumpkin, together. I am so proud of him. More of this to come

Ever wonder how the Playmakers got started?

Coach Roz's varsity football coaching days at Sacramento's Encina High School exposed a harsh truth — one of the student-athletes was sleeping in his car to escape home troubles. Coach quickly found out that many members of his team faced daily struggles.

That pivotal moment sparked the birth of the Playmakers' mission. Today, we're a nonprofit that fuses sports and academics to shape leadership and build character. We've impacted the lives of over 2,000 students and athletes.
