🦆POND MAINTENANCE🐟

Had a couple customers who took advantage of the dry conditions and got some much needed pond cleaning done. The water levels in most ponds right now are low and provide great access to clean out any weeds or sludge that have built up over the years. Also reshaped the banks to provide a more gradual slope to allow a mower to get on and keep the weeds under control.

🌲LOT CLEARING🌲

Transitioned this wooded area into a future parking lot last week. Tree & stump removal was first on the list, next we took a berm of stone that was created by the glacial shift and did some cut and fill to create a flat area in preparation for gravel.

AG FENCELINE TRIMMING

With the use of our tree shear, we can safely and quickly clear fence lines of overhanging branches that cause damage to farm equipment. Take back some acres and be able to farm the land tight to the fence. This tool sure beats a chainsaw and a backache 😉

LOGGING

After the Emerald Ash Borer came through and killed just about all the ash trees in the area, we have been busy in the winter months trying to harvest the Ash trees that are worth some money in lumber. It’s the best practice to try and get some value out of this lumber before it falls over and rots. Soft Maple is also in jeopardy and we have been harvesting that as well, to provide some return on investment for property owners. Along with the Ash and Soft Maple, we will do select cut thinnings of just about any piece of timber. Have a hardwoods that’s lacking sunlight? You may need to get it thinned out to promote regenerative growth of saplings.

POND INSTALLATION

Here is a small 1/2 acre pond we created to attract and hold wildlife. Customer wanted to provide wildlife with food, shelter and water and was missing just one of those important items. Cleared out a small section of trees and provided a place for water to collect. I haven’t been back there recently to see how full it is, but I’m sure the wildlife is appreciative of the nearby drinking station.
