Ma Martha volunteers at J. Dwalu Kimber Episcopal School in Liberia, where she – like many of our volunteer cooks – wakes at 4am every school day to arrive on campus early and start the meal preparation. She walks two hours every day to cook at her children’s school.

Three of her own children receive Mary’s Meals, so she knows how important the meals are and says that her favourite part of the job is making sure all the children are fed every school day on time.

She says: "I thank God for Mary's Meals for helping me reduce my daily food expenses. When my children return from school, they usually remind me that I shouldn't rush to cook because they ate Mary's Meals at school."

But cooking meals isn’t all Ma Martha does in support of our work! She is often seen proudly wearing Mary's Meals bags upcycled as clothing as her unique way of raising awareness in her local community and beyond.

Never tried? Panzerotto Pesto

Founded in 2019, was on a mission of exporting one of Italy’s most loved foods: Panzerotto Pugliese. With dough made from certified Apulian flours of re-milled wheat germ semolina, EVO oil and mother yeast to obtain maximum digestibility and richness in nutrients, their delicious panzerotti is created with only the highest quality in all ingredients.

We support and feed with Mary Mary's Meals.

For the last three years Mary’s Meals has been providing Janet with a daily meal at Kinjor Public School in Liberia. The school feeding programme is run by local volunteers and serves a nutritious meal to every child, every school day. Janet tells us how the programme is making a difference to her life at school and at home:

"When I eat the meals at school, I remain filled until late evening before eating again. So, I can keep some of my evening meal for the next morning.

"I have been eating Mary’s Meals for three years. It has given me the energy to continue to learn and work hard."

Without the worry of going hungry, Janet can enjoy her classes. She’s now looking ahead to her future and what she would like to do when she leaves school.

"My favourite subject is social studies as it teaches me about people and culture. I would like to become a nurse."
