In what would be one of the last hearings of March before the coronavirus shut down the Broward County Courts, our team exposed to the Court a practice by the Hollywood Police Department after traffic accidents that repeatedly violates citizens’ rights. Now our client’s 2 year nightmare is finally over. More about this in a blog post to come. Know your rights. 💪🏼💪🏾

When Jorge first came to MK Law, his prior attorneys did not take the time to learn that he was a combat veteran who had proudly served the United States overseas. Our attorneys fought to have Jorge enrolled in Veterans court despite several bureaucratic hurdles not faced by the average veteran trying to enter vet court. Although Jorge’s charges arose from a terrible misunderstanding that would have likely resulted in his exoneration at trial, Jorge decided to take advantage of Broward county’s veterans court program. Jorge conducted himself with dignity throughout the process, and after over a year and a half of diligent compliance, the court dismissed his charges this week. For someone who gave his youth to fight for our right, this is the least his country could do to pay him back for his valiant service. Thank you for your service, Jorge. We are proud of you!
