Hello friends!
It's been a long six months since that faithful day in September, but things are becoming clearer and there are opportunities to resurrect The Pier Peddler!
Seems fitting to post this during Easter week!
I will fill you in with details as they firm up but for now I have a favor to ask. If you were someone who generously shared your service patch with us, police, fire, armed services...would you consider sending us another so that we might recreate our display?
Below you will see a board that survived the storm. I'll never forget how I cried when I saw this! A dear friend has become the "keeper of the patches" and has painstakingly washed and cleaned each one that's been found.
There seems no better 1st step to take than to plan for space that meant so much to us and to so many of you.

One of our first employees, Lone was part of our family for more than 35 years. She was loved and she will be missed. We will forever be grateful for every moment we shared.

These great guys brought in their patches yesterday so we let them hang them on our wall! They’re from Davenport, Iowa Scott county.
The gentleman on the left is Rich (President if the dept) the other man is Dan VP of the department. One patch is for breast cancer awareness the other for Autism awareness.

It was on Dec. 31 in 1985 when Jose Cereceda went for it. Talk about a New Year’s resolution!

He opened a store at the base of the iconic Fort Myers Beach pier with mostly a smile and a dream. Thirty-plus years later, The Pier Peddler remains a foolproof destination for both newcomers and dear old friends who appreciate the joys of white-sand beach life and the energy that comes with Times Square. Need a pair of shades, sandals and a visor? You hit The Pier Peddler. Need a nice dinner outfit a few hours later? Back in you go.

Meanwhile, family members over the years also worked at the business, further cementing its personality and reputation as an established and trusted member of the community. Then, when you see the thousands of police patches that line the walls, you realize quickly that The Pier Peddler is all about making friends and forging lasting relationships. There's no telling the number of people who have graced its floors... but the variety of greetings in different languages listed on the store’s awning says it all. It’s a store for all.

Today, daughter Anita owns the store and is dedicated to both preserving its past and keeping with the changing needs of the customers. You know, friends of the family (whether she knows you or not, you qualify!)
