Sidewalk Art for Children by Children
The Shaken Baby Alliance would like to challenge you and your family to participate in a special, fun project to promote child and family well-being and awareness of child abuse during COVID-19.
Child abuse deaths and incidents are on the rise due to increased caregiver stress and isolation. Now is the perfect time to involve kids in something meaningful while allowing for social distancing and outdoors activities.
Have your child draw his/her ideas on your sidewalk in chalk. You are welcome to look at some of the posts on the FB page for ideas. Children are very creative and have ideas and talents that can help generate hope and bring awareness to child abuse. Pinterest has great examples of chalk drawings as well.
Instructions:
The challenge is open to any age and any number of posts.
When your child’s chalk sidewalk drawing is complete, take a picture of it and post it to this page. The Shaken Baby Alliance will share these posts with other families. Your child can be in the picture or just share the drawing.
You are welcome to give the first name and age of your child, but for safety reasons nothing that is identifiable. They must be family friendly and appropriate as determined by The Shaken Baby Alliance.
Challenge three of your friends to do the same thing and post their drawing on the Chalk Challenge page and encourage them to challenge challenge three of their friends to do the same.
The plan is to cover the sidewalks of Tarrant County with drawings by children that promote awareness of child abuse, or words of encouragement, or positive thoughts, or anything appropriate that your child would like to draw. What does hope look like to a child?
