There's still time to support our Back-to-School Supply Drive! Every child deserves to start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. Please help us reach our goal of 200 new backpacks filled with supplies! Monetary donations will also be gratefully accepted. Thank you for your generous support! (Note: New link in the QR code. Our apologies, the original link did not work for some of you).

We are so thankful for our community! Thank you for consistently supporting our work to disrupt the cycle of poverty for families. For passionately building a community where all women and children live in safety, have the education needed to earn a living wage, and the opportunities to build a secure financial future. Open to sharing even more today? Tell us why you support our mission in the comments!
Why are the families most likely to be trapped in poverty led by single mothers? Without affordable childcare, they can’t find employment or take advantage of education opportunities that will allow them to increase their incomes. With free childcare at Center for Transforming Lives, Robin was able to find a job and go back to school to get her GED, both critical in building financial stability for her family.

The 14-acre campus will be transformed into a beautiful urban park with a trauma-responsive landscape, promoting mental as well as physical health benefits. Our visionary framework in partnership with Studio Outside was recently recognized with a Merit Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects! https://transforminglives.org/Riverside-Campus

While our work focuses primarily on single mothers with young children, we do serve and support fathers and grandfathers, too. Our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the fathers who play roles of mentors, friends and guides in their children's lives.
Celebrating Father's Day at our Polytechnic Childcare Center. Dads were treated to breakfast with their kids, just one of the many ways Center for Transforming Lives builds community with our families!
In Tarrant County, 34% of single mothers with a child under age 5 live in poverty. Mothers like TaNisha, who escaped from a violent partner only to face homelessness with her young son. When she turned to Center for Transforming Lives, she enrolled in housing, childcare and clinical counseling -- all essential to healing herself and her family. TaNisha is just one of the hundreds of mothers served each year by Center for Transforming Lives. When a woman thrives, so do her children and her community.

The rental venue is closing as Center for Transforming Lives moves to a larger, more accessible location on South Riverside Drive later this year. The events you have hosted at Historic 512 have contributed more than $9 MILLION since 1989 to programs disrupting the cycle of poverty for women and their children. THANK YOU for helping us achieve this significant milestone! Your support has transformed thousands of lives! We are deeply grateful for the memories we have shared.

From Poverty to Prosperity. Together.
For 110 years, the organization now known as the Center for Transforming Lives (CTL) has provided anti-poverty programs for women and children in Tarrant County. It was founded in 1907 as the first YWCA™ in Texas serving as a boarding house for poor women, expanded to include child care for working mothers in the 1930s, and in 2015 changed its name from the YWCA Fort Worth & Tarrant County to the Center for Transforming Lives to more clearly articulate its mission.
Today, the Center for Transforming Lives helps homeless and impoverished women, children, and families move from poverty to independence through:
