You can see from the scalped vs. unscalped comparison how much dead material is taken off the surface of the turf. Without removing that layer, it becomes thatch in your new turf. A thick layer of thatch is a breeding ground pest and fungus. Be sure to get your scalp and bag service in!

Below are a few things to consider when preparing for a freeze:

- Insulate outdoor faucets
- Salt walkways, porches, steps and patios
