Josh Edwards made significant life changes to compete in the most strenuous horse race in the world.

The two-time NFR pickup man competed in the Mongol Derby, a 1,000 km horse race across the Mongolian Steppe.

Livestock production, highlighted and honored at the FWSSR, is the basis of a system that transforms beef, pork, lamb and poultry into the foods consumers enjoy - from ready-to-eat items to the cuts consumers bring home for backyard grilling or kitchen preparation. Between the farm and the fork, a well-trained workforce serves in critical roles ranging from product development, quality assurance, food safety, and other aspects that consumers, who are mostly unaware of this critical infrastructure, benefit from on a daily basis. Many of those professionals got their start on meat judging teams that compete at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.

Construction on the Sheep & Swine barns is moving along! The renovations are set to be completed by December, just in time for the 2025 FWSSR. Who’s excited to show in these new barns? 🙋‍♀️

Help us congratulate 12 outstanding Texas FFA Association students, each receiving an $8,000 scholarship from the FWSSR. That is a total of $96,000 in scholarships for the future of agriculture!
