Artist Boryana Rusenova-Ina's exhibition 'You Speak English Too Well' is grounded in their formative experiences of learning English as a second language in post-communist Bulgaria. "Back then writing was drawing and drawing was writing, and now they both have also become painting. I find the intersection between language and identity, and how the former signifies the latter, to be a constant source of curiosity."
Join Arts Fort Worth Saturday, August 19 at 1 p.m. for Boryana Rusenova-Ina's artist talk in the gallery!

The Houston-based artists Sherry Tseng Hill and Chet Urban explore the intersection of migration at the southern U.S. border from their relative positions through memory as collective binder rather than in individual illusion. The Houston-based artists Sherry Tseng Hill and Chet Urban explore the intersection of migration at the southern U.S. border from their relative positions through memory as a collective binder rather than in individual illusion.
The artists ask, how do events today connect us, deep within us, to our own experiences? How, then, do our experiences conversely connect to events today? As our relative perspective shifts, what then is shifted in us when we experience the solidarity of the cosmos? How do these experiences exist, in addition to and through other experiences? Seeing one thing brings up another by memory or imagination, where a possibility is realized in a manifestation that is alive, real, and exists in time but not a linear or chronographic time, a kairos time.
