In celebration of , today we are recognizing an inspiring leader in higher education, Dr. Javier Cevallos, President of Framingham State University. Dr. Cevallos became President of FSU in 2014. Born in Cuenca, Ecuador, his family moved to Puerto Rico when he was 14. As President of FSU, Dr. Cevallos has brought a global perspective to the University through partnerships with universities in Ecuador, Costa Rica and Brazil. He created new degrees to meet the needs of the local economy and has advocated to protect Dreamers. He serves on the boards of MetroWest Medical Center and the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce, and was recognized as a 2018 Top 50 Power Player by the Worcester Business Journal.
