Our Story

-Challenger Learning Center-
The Challenger Learning Center mission simulator offers a totally immersive, hands-on STEM education experience that is like nothing else. Students are transformed into astronauts, scientists, and engineers with a single common purpose – the success of the mission. Teamwork, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills are put to the test.
The Challenger mission experience is perfect for school groups in grades 5 and up, out-of-school time groups of similar age, college students, and adults.

-FSU Planetarium-
Whether addressing the smallest aspects of Earth’s biosphere or the most unimaginably massive objects in our universe, Framingham State University’s high-definition, digital planetarium is a powerful and effective catalyst for learning. Our programs, which include full dome feature films, live star shows, and special in-house productions, are tailored and available for all ages. Our center hosts school groups, out-of-school time groups such as science clubs, scout groups, and community-based organizations. Programs for college students and adults are also available.

-Interactive Exhibits-
Our exhibit area is an integral part of the McAuliffe Center STEM experience. More than just exhibits, these installations are a launching pad for the explorations that take place in the Challenger mission simulator and planetarium.

-General Public Offerings-
We are pleased to open our doors for a variety of scheduled public events. Visit christa.org to learn more about public planetarium programs, campus wide science festivals, interactive
exhibits, and other special events.
