Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid, 50-100 times more potent than morphine. It's a major contributor to the drug crisis, causing a significant number of overdose deaths. Understanding its dangers and how to respond can save lives.

⚠️ Potency and Risk: Even a small amount can be lethal. Fentanyl is often mixed with other drugs, increasing the risk of overdose without the user knowing.

🚨 Signs of Overdose: Symptoms include difficulty breathing, drowsiness, dizziness, and confusion. If you suspect someone is overdosing, call emergency services immediately.

🚨 Prevention and Support: At Spero Health, we provide resources and support to those struggling with addiction. Education, awareness, and access to treatment are key to combating the dangers of fentanyl.

Stay informed, stay safe, and know that help is always available. Visit our website to learn more about our services and how we can support you or a loved one on the path to recovery.

Stigma often stands in the way of people getting the help they need for substance use disorders. At Spero Health, we believe in breaking down these barriers with understanding and compassion. Stigma can lead to isolation and shame, making recovery even harder. By promoting empathy and using person-first language, we can create a community that supports and uplifts those who are struggling.

🌟 Breaking the Stigma: Your Role in Supporting Recovery 🌟

Did you know that stigma can be one of the biggest barriers preventing people from seeking the help they need for addiction? When society views addiction through a lens of judgment and misunderstanding, it can discourage individuals from reaching out for support, leading to isolation and prolonged suffering.

Stigma can impact:

🙅‍♂️ Willingness to seek treatment
💔 Self-esteem and self-worth of those struggling
💸 Public and private funding for addiction treatment services

Understanding and combating stigma is crucial in addressing the addiction crisis and supporting recovery.

Do you know the dangers of fentanyl?

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that has contributed to a tragic rise in overdose deaths across the country. Its potency—50 to 100 times stronger than morphine—makes even small amounts incredibly dangerous, especially when mixed with other substances without the user’s knowledge.

If you or a loved one is struggling with addiction, know that help is available.

As we honor Mental Health Awareness Month in May, let's talk about something super important – men's mental health. Did you know that 1 in 3 men will experience a mental health issue at some point in their lives? That's a lot of dads, brothers, sons, and friends who might need a little extra support.

Here are some eye-opening stats:

🧠 6% of men are affected by depression.

😰 5-10% of men struggle with anxiety disorders.

💔 75% of completed su***des are men, with su***de being the leading cause of death in men aged 15-49.

Men often feel like they can't open up about their struggles. In fact, 40% of men think that admitting to a mental health issue makes them seem weak. But the truth is, asking for help is a sign of strength.

It's time we change the conversation. If you or someone you know is going through a tough time, know that it's okay to reach out. Only 36% of men with a mental health disorder seek professional help. We can do better.

At Spero Health, we understand that mental health is closely linked to substance use disorder. We're here to support you with compassion and care.

🧠💡 Understanding the Link Between Mental Health and Addiction 💡🧠

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are focusing on the intricate relationship between mental health and substance abuse. This connection is crucial to address, as it affects millions and impacts both treatment and recovery.

Individuals with mental health issues are more likely to use substances as a form of self-medication, which can further complicate both conditions.

Effective treatment requires addressing both mental health and addiction together, leading to better outcomes and improved quality of life.

Recently, we had the honor of hosting State Representative McClain at the Multicounty Jail in Marion County, Ohio alongside Jail Director Steve Aiken and Brad Decamp, Marion/Crawford ADAMH Board Director. Originally invited to showcase our IOP program within the jail, we were thrilled to delve deeper into the impactful work being done to rehabilitate inmates.

During the tour, Representative McClain had the opportunity to meet two program participants who shared their experiences firsthand. Their feedback was incredibly positive, highlighting how the program keeps their minds engaged and even opens doors to special tasks within the jail due to their exemplary behavior.

In addition to discussing the program's success, we engaged in vital conversations about addressing overcrowding and providing essential resources to those in need. Together, we're not just envisioning change; we're making it happen!
