Our CEO, Sashank Purighalla’s article on “DevOps jobs: What every engineer must know in 2022” that was published by Techopedia.

DevOps started as a model to produce “High Quality Code Quickly”.

However, over the past 5-6 years, there has been over a 600% increase in the number of tools and an over 600% increase in and Tech costs.

This is largely due to picking up / skills on the job and somehow getting systems to work without a real understanding or thought placed on , , , or .

Building resilient Cloud-based systems that are highly scalable, available, and compliant requires a well resourced team of highly skilled individuals that can think systemically. It requires the teams to hold holistic knowledge of a variety of tools across multiple cloud providers ( , , , etc) and the ability to thoughtfully select tools and techniques. It requires business acumen and the ability to balance quick delivery of near term objectives while maintaining long term focus around sustainability and growth. And that requires the ability to create holistic architectures as a model of the dynamic business model. This is not an easy job!

For tech-enabled businesses and for developers who want to go the DevOps route, I discuss the skills needed for strong DevOps engineers as well as some of the aspects that talk to the core reasons why DevOps was conceptualized.
