While the mail-in ballots have yet to be counted, the order of finish is unlikely to change in District 3. I am so grateful to all my supporters, volunteers, and all those I met along the way. A special thank you to my wife, Alexis Adams Slater, for all her love and support. Congratulations to Delegate Ken Kerr, Kris Fair, and Karen Simpson for Maryland, they will represent Frederick well in Annapolis!!!
Frederick County is growing rapidly. This growth must be managed effectively to ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive and excel.

Enjoyed speaking about my campaign to the United Democrats of Frederick County in Kemptown Community Park this afternoon. Good turnout and great company. Thank you President Mark Jafari and all the United Dems.
Took a day off knocking doors for the 4th of July and made some delicious homemade cupcakes for our family picnic. In addition to being passionate about justice and the law, I also love to bake. Extra credit if you recognize that hand grabbing for the first cupcake. 🇺🇸💥

Knocking on doors around Baker Park the day before Independence Day. Ran into many familiar faces and old friends and had lots of good conversations on the issues. 16 days until the Primary!!!
Happy to run into Congressman David Trone at Frederick Pride Festival yesterday. Great turnout and festive atmosphere downtown on the creek celebrating diversity.
Put up another yard sign in Tuscarora Creek this morning before hitting the doors for a few hours and then visiting the Frederick Pride Festival downtown on the creek. Busy day on the campaign trail.
Ran into another person I went to high school with while canvassing today. That’s the 4th or 5th person I’ve encountered while knocking on doors that I graduated from Frederick High with in 1987. Go Cadets!!
So invigorating to come across homes already with your sign as you are knocking doors. 28 days until the Primary!!!
Glad to attend Kavonte Duckett’s event last evening at the Quartermaster Ci**rs. A “Smoking Good Time” was had by all and the crowd got to hear how Kevonte will make an outstanding County Council Member for District 4!!
TWO DAYS - TWO BIG ENDORSEMENTS!! I am happy to announce that my campaign has been endorsed by AFSCME Maryland. I look forward to working with Maryland’s public employee workforce to keep Maryland a great place to live and work for all Marylanders. Thank you AFSCME and all your members for the work you do everyday.
Proud to be endorsed by the Maryland and District of Columbia AFL-CIO for my strong commitment to labor. Looking forward to standing up for hard working men and women in Annapolis!
Happy Armed Forces Day to all who are serving to keep us safe and protect the nation. My time in the military is a big part of the reason I’m running for office. My six years in the Navy and four years in the Maryland Army National Guard taught me the value of commitment, teamwork, and public service. Thank you to all who have made that same commitment to service.
Knocking doors on Madison Street on this stuffy Friday afternoon. When I was a kid, I used to walk down this street everyday to get to South Frederick (now Lincoln) Elementary School. Remarkable how so little has changed on this street in over four decades.
Knocking doors on historic South Market Street on this beautiful afternoon. Knocked on the doors of my elementary school principal and the vice-principal of my high school (she was later principal). I was reminded of how important education is and the excellent FCPS teachers, administrators and school support staff we have in Frederick County. Thank you FCPS!
Small businesses are the driving force of our economy. It’s always nice to run into local business owners out on the campaign trail. Shout out to the owners of Cafe Bueno on East 4th Street that I ran into while canvassing in Monocacy Village this afternoon. Think local! Think Frederick!
Beautiful day to knock on doors in Frederick city today, though the afternoon got hotter than I expected. Special shout out to the young lady who set up the lemonade stand on East 8th Street. I was parched and her lemonade was just what I needed! Any candidates out there who are thirsty on the campaign trail should swing by 8th Street and buy some lemonade!
