Bushwaller's Generous Donation

This year's Junior Fire Company fundraiser in March with Bushwaller's, was a great success, thanks to our community and Bushwaller's. The Junior Fire Company No 2. received a generous donation of $1,694.00 as part of the March Chairty event. We are looking forward to next year's event scheduled for March of 2025.

In addition, Bushwaller's will be establishing a second business venture next to our fire station (Old Guido's building) and we look forward to continuing to build a relationship with them for future endeavors.

Verizon Backpack Event

The Verizon Store on Kingsfisher Drive held their Backpack giveaway event on July 30, 2023 for Kids. The Junior Fire Company Fire Prevention Life Safety Committee attended and handed out fire prevention materials. Look out for future details of the event this year!

2023 FSK Car Show

Fire Extinguisher Training - 2023

On August 16, 2023, Asst. Chief TimShelton of the Junior Fire Company conducted Fire Extinguisher Training at Canam Steel in Frederick. Information about various types of extinguishers were covered with the staff. The Junior Fire Company appreciates the opportunity to share this training with the community.

Rt 15 Tanker Explosion

March 4th, 2024 marks the anniversary of the fatal Tanker Explosion on Rt. 15 North Bound. The Junior Fire Company responded to this call for help and would like to express our deepest sympathy for the family and friends who lost their loved one. In addition, we'd like to pay our appreciating to the fire fighters, EMT's, and Paramedics who responded to this incident.

A Summer Safety Message for our Community

With the arrival of summer comes warmer temperatures, outdoor activities, and four (4) national holidays. We welcome those national holidays which include Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, and Labor Day. The 101 Critical Days of Summer beginning Memorial Day weekend and ending Labor Day weekend is the longest vacation period of the year. This time of the year is deemed 'critical' because historically many lose their lives due to accidents. More summer activities and travel mean greater risk exposure and an opportunity for injuries.

The members of the Junior Fire Co. No.2, Inc. would like to ask while traveling, drive both defensively and sensibly. While integrating safety as you plan your summer activities will help make this period a fun filled and memorable time for everyone. Unsafe use of privately owned vehicles, which includes motorcycles and water vehicles, continues to be the number one killer of family members. Incidents can be avoided through simple risk identification and mitigation steps, such as responsible use of alcohol, proper sleep, driving without distraction, and having a plan in place for emergencies, thus, saving lives and reducing injuries.

We count on each of you reading this message to exercise sound judgment to ensure you, your loved ones, colleagues, and friends remain safe. Safety must be a priority and an ever-present standard for you and your family.

Cheif Keith Brown and Assistant Secretary Karlea Brown Orrison were presented with a check last night from Bushwaller's Pub for funds raised during the month of March.

We want to again thank Bushwaller’s and their Owners for raising funds to be utilized by us to protect the residents and visitors of The City of Frederick.

JFC looks forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Bushwaller’s as they embark on opening Spacie Gracie next door.

Deuce On The Loose - Thank You!

Members of Junior Fire Co. No. 2 participated in the beer making process at Smoketown in January 2023 to create ‘Deuce on the Loose’, a Sweet Blake IPA. The Fire Company released its beer at Smoketown Brewery in conjunction with Fire In Ice on February 4th, 2023. Proceeds from the beer sales supported The Junior Fire Company, and we want to take an opportunity to thank everyone who supported the fundraiser. We would especially like to include a special thanks to Smoketown Brewery, Junior Volunteers, folks who purchased Junior Fire Company merchandise, and especially folks who purchased Junior Fire Company's first ever beer, Deuce On The Loose. Merchandise is still available for sale (please contact us if interested in purchasing T's, Challenge Coins, and more).
