Who else is excited for fall? I love all the fall colors. Can’t wait for all the photoshoots this fall season. Did I say fall enough?
It’s that time of the year I add one more image to this family tradition. It was tough to pick which image to use. I picked an image that had Micah smiling because days before going on vacation he did a canon ball in a baby pool and his knee hit his face and he knocked out his front tooth. Oh the memories.
I am so excited for Isabelle and Alex. Very soon they will get to hold their baby girl.
I said it once and I know I will say it again I love growing old with clients/friends. The sunflower maternity photos were from Michelle’s 1st maternity session with me and the studio photos was her 2nd maternity shoot with me. Watching families grow is a beautiful thing!
When I look at this photo, I can smell Lake Michigan. I was so grateful to be able to photograph a wedding last fall in Traverse City Michigan. I’m not the best at sharing my photos but I am very lucky that I am really busy still regardless of how much I share on social media. Thank you.
So excited for Kelly and Kyle. Today is their wedding day! Here are some photos from our engagement session. I will see you both soon and look forward to capturing more memories.
For those that asked, here are our family’s two new kittens. Sunrise aka Sunny and Midnight. My daughter picked two little cuties. These sisters spend their time cuddling and play fighting.
As a photographer, when it is raining on your wedding day I am hyper aware when the rain is light or done so I can take the couple outside for some portraits on their wedding day. Right after David and Cara’s ceremony the rain let up and we went outside for maybe 5 minutes to capture a few quick portraits. Cara wanted to throw the umbrella down for a quick pose/kiss. She asked David’s permission first and looked at me and said was it ok and of course. No need for permission from me.
The stress a couple takes on when planning a wedding, having it at their house and the possibility of rain is not fun! However it did not rain so that was a blessing. Nothing better than a fireworks show on your wedding day from your backyard. Congratulations Todd and Danielle!
Paul and Savana’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful. They got married at Caboose Farm. Which if you’re not familiar with is at the top of a mountain. It was drizzling often on and then kind of stopped, but as it stopped, this thick fog kind of took over and gave such a beautiful look to their wedding photos. I can’t wait to share more images from this wedding.
I know its Monday but I am excited for next weekend so I can capture more wedding day memories. Here are some photos of Emily & Jonathan engagement session this past fall. Jonathan isn’t as strong at paddle boarding as Emily is but he rocked it during the last part of our session.
My maternity shoot with Kayla and her boys was fun. We had an adventurous walk to the waterfall. Climbing on the rocks while I believe she was 34 weeks pregnant. I was a bit scared but Kayla was confident. Luckily nobody but us were there to distract us. Once we got to the beach we wanted to make sure Jack didn’t jump in the water before getting his photo taken with the family first. The dynamics of getting maternity photos with a toddler can be hectic but sometimes that is what family life is like. I would call it beautiful chaos!
The last few weddings I have photographed have rained. To me that means good luck for the couple and really fun photos! Congratulations Jordan and Noah. Have fun on your honeymoon. If you could please bring back the warm weather.

My friends Amber and Leigh put their heart in soul in opening They moved their salon to a new location. Designing a salon from scratch is not easy but Amber and Leigh had a vision. With that vision they put together a beautiful salon. If you haven’t checked it out you should.
Getting married at Butler’s Orchard offers so many beautiful settings for wedding day portraits. This location is so beautiful and to me personally looks like it belongs on an island or Asia. Brad and Daniele had their 1st look here and then we took some portraits. Shortly after these portraits it rained for a couple hours and we just chilled in a golf cart for maybe an hour in a barn. The couple was so laid back, we just took some fun photos in the barn while we waited for the rain to let up. I can’t wait to share the rest of their photos.
This used to be one of my favorite places to take portraits of couples or individuals in downtown Frederick. This wedding day portrait of Cat and Brandon has since been gated. Whoever owns this alleyway I guess didn’t like people in the alleyway. It’s kind of a bummer but I’m glad I got to take some rad portraits there.
I miss when my twins were this small. I have taken a lot of newborn photos of twins since having my twins. It’s pretty awesome! Cooper and Walker snuggling while I took their photo.
I have photographed all 3 pregnancies for my friend Amy. The last maternity session we did in the studio. She brought flowers and her husband’s work shirt as props. I think it turned out pretty good.
Lifestyle home sessions are so much fun!
Rain will never stop the amount of loved that is in the air especially on Jason and Shantel‘s wedding day!
Happy birthday to this lovely bride. I hope you have a wonderful birthday Lauren!
Penny was so happy that mom and dad got married this weekend! I had so much fun hanging out with Hanna and Jackson and both of their families.
I love the wedding season. Every weekend for a couple months I get to capture so many memories in couples lives. Here are some images from Florence and Grady’s wedding in DC. Even though it was cold and windy I don’t think you can tell. Right?
Welcome to the world, Noah. Your family loves you so much.
Which Harry Potter house do you belong to?
Our Christmas Tradition. Next year I will have new pajamas for the kids. It was hard to pick which image goes into the collage. I wanted to put the image of all the kids being very somber but EllaMae picked the winner this year. Scroll to the right to see the top 3 choices. Which would you’ve you picked?
As you know Family Traditions are important to me. This year I haven’t been posting as much on social media. I have had a few friends and family ask me if I photographed those family traditions this year, and the answer was yes of course! I just hadn’t yet shared them on social media. Before the year comes to an end,I am going to share my continued family traditions. I wish nothing but the best for you all in the New Years!
