is a philanthropic network of advocates enriching the vitality and quality of life in our community by promoting access to higher education. In partnership with individuals, organizations, and businesses, the mission of the Frederick Community College Foundation is to remove barriers to a community college education and provide financial support so all students can succeed and positively contribute to our community.

The Mid Atlantic Center for Emergency Management and Public Safety led by Kathy Francis held a 5K race and public expo at FCC this morning. Funds raised will support scholarships for students in these programs. The event was open to the community and generated a lot of interest when the state trooper helicopter landed on the soccer field!
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, the FCC Foundation in partnership with the United Way of Frederick County sponsored a second Chromebook Giveaway Event at Frederick Community College.
Last month, Amy Anderson, a FCC Foundation scholarship recipient and second-year nursing student here at FCC, was our student speaker at the Board of Directors' meeting. Amy discussed how the scholarship from the Foundation has positively impacted her journey as a student here at FCC.

Parents Lead is a cohort-based program that serves the needs of parents who are working, raising a family, and returning to school. It’s not easy but financial support and the support of peers and understanding instructors make a difference.

Today marks the kick-off of the United Way of Frederick County's 2024 Unity Campaign. The FCC Foundation is raising funds for our Parents Lead program, which provides specialized curriculum and advising services for parents attending classes at FCC.
As part of the Unity Campaign, individuals are asked to donate to local causes and programs like Parents Lead between March 6 and March 20, 2024.

FCC is proud to be the recipient of a $15K grant from the Delaplaine Foundation for FY2024 for the Parents Lead Program. Delightfully on his birthday, Mr. George Delaplaine posed with the FCC Parents Lead and FCC Foundation Staff when we accepted the grant and took this photo.

As the Treasurer for the FCC Foundation, Inc., Frank recently attended a check presentation where FCC received a $150,000 grant from Truist Foundation that will specifically address critical healthcare workforce shortages in our region.
"This is a great opportunity for our local students to explore health care programming and gain specific skills to serve our community, " Frank shared.
Frank will continue to serve on the FCC Foundation, Inc. board of directors through 2026.
