Saturday marked the birth of a very special little boy named Gary! From the bottom of Not Your Grandma’s Bakery’s heart, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, GARY!

We are doing Valentine’s Day boxes and I can’t wait to share them with you all!! Also, catch Not Your Grandma’s Bakery at the Jedburg Junction every Saturday, we will be baking our hearts out! Pictures and prices will follow later on today! We are making a set amount this year, so book your box before we fill our books. We’ve already booked half of the boxes we are selling, so get your order in now! Here is a sneak peak of some of the sweets we’ll be making. We’ll also be selling truffle boxes and cupcake bouquets!

I have been down, I have been broken, and I have been lifted in prayer. I’ve heard some of the best news the day I was told we would be welcoming a baby, and some of the worst news when I was told that my bones will continue to die much faster than they should, and that on X-ray that they would guesstimate me to be about 84 years old.

My life for the last 6 years has been a FIGHT. I have battled severe depression and anxiety, and have had to start from the bottom more than once. I have learned how to walk again, and again, and AGAIN. I’ve seen physical therapists, been to endocrinologist, cardiologist, orthopedic doctors, gastrointestinal, pulmonologists, and the list could go on.

I have had more testing done than a lab rat, and we still have no face to my demon. I don’t get that closure, that answer that tells me why this is happening to me. However, what I do get is an opportunity to share my story with you all—my fight. I am very transparent when it comes to my body’s illness, and plan to keep it that way.

Please fight with me. These are the faces of a very tired mother raising a FIERCE 4 year old, an exhausted mother laying next to me after a hard day’s work and falling asleep on my bed railing because she refuses to leave my side. My fight is their fight.

PLEASE SHARE THE VOTE. We are praying every day for a miracle, and just like we have no name for my condition, we expect no names for the miracle I am claiming. I just know that my answer is waiting for me in the Holy Waters in Lourdes, France. I have felt this calling in my body for a long time to go, and now is our chance. We just need your help.

We have WORKED for this. We made it to the Quarter Finals. We are putting it into the universe that we are coming home with a win! Voting will begin again TODAY later this afternoon. Everyone has heard my sister talk about her trials and tribulations, but I’ve never spoken publicly about my side of the story. How I get to travel the world baking for other families, sometimes even celebrities, but what it’s like to get those phone calls from your mother that your sister is being rushed into surgery, or that your sister is getting transfusions because she has lost a lot of blood. No one has heard from my side of the story what it is like to hold my sister’s hand as we try to teach her how to walk again, or having to bathe her because she cannot bathe herself. I’ve never talked publicly about the tears I’ve cried as I’ve sat next to my sister’s hospital bed, waiting for the anesthesia to ware off, just praying to God that he will spare her the heart ache of having to go through these surgeries time and time again.

I’ve never talked about what it’s like to watch your sister be motionless, hooked up to a breathing machine, knowing how much pain she is in, and yet she still shows up. My sister still raises a 4 year old daughter, works a full time job, limped her entire way down the aisle with a leg brace on to marry the love of her life, and when all the cameras are off and not rolling, she cries, begging for relief, for normalcy, to be out of pain and to be able to live again.

When I started Not Your Grandma’s Bakery, it was to get her to France, because she truly believes in her heart that she will be healed in the Holy Waters. Imagine having all that she’s had done and your faith is still so great that you still BELIEVE, even after all she’s faced, that God will heal you. The doctors have called her a medical anomaly so many times, and she’s even been called a miracle, and we want to show the world what it means to have unshakeable faith. My sister has had 14 surgeries and 3 more lined up for next year.

I work a full time job and still bake to raise money to get my sister to France, because I BELIEVE with everything I am, that she will find healing. I want more than anything to win this contest so we can get her to France so she can be healed. My story is my sister’s story because I AM my sister’s keeper.

We are Not Your Grandma's Bakery! My sister and I have built our business on the love and support from all of you! As many of you already know, my sister has a very sick body, and we bake to send her to France to get healed in the waters that are said to perform miracles.
