Kickshaws Gluten-free Bakery

Last night to celebrate my birthday (no numbers please) we went to see in DC. Awesome show! They happened to be spending the night in good ol Fredericksburg so I told them to swing by! So good to see you guys! Have an awesome rest of the East coast tour, we’ll see you guys next time!

We ARE legit! Whoopie pies were a new thing for Kathy when she started Kickshaws. As a first generation American, there are a number of baked goods she was totally oblivious to, such as whoopie pies. Enough northerners offered requests and suggestions that finally Kathy work to perfect them and darn it if we don’t feel like they rock. We hope everyone loves them as much as we do ❤️

We are gearing up for tomorrow 7/21, 8am-1pm in Stafford!! The Tiramisu cupcake is one of my favorites, hands down. Espresso syrup soaked cake topped with an espresso mousse-style icing (seriously -SO light and delicate) and dusted with cocoa powder. Of course- can’t sleep on the Lemon Cream Cupcake- no extracts here, we use fresh juice and zest and you can taste it yum! 🤤

Cake orders! We get folks who come in often looking for birthday cakes, while we try to keep some single layer cakes stocked, we don’t make larger cakes daily for sale cause if they don’t sell in a few days it’s just a loss 😭 and to throw away beautiful cakes is heart breaking. SO be sure to get your cake orders in as soon as you know you need a cake! We love making cakes for all occasions we just need a little lead time to do it. To place cake order simply call or stop by the bakery and we can answer all your questions and get you on our cake calendar.

Has it been a long while since you have been in? Like any small business we are always working hard to improve and serve our customers as best as we can. To that- our selection of goods from breads through all pastries have almost doubled over the last year and a half. Additionally, we have worked continually to improve our recipes. What we do is unique, and and and we never want to just keep moving forward without change and improvement. What have you seen change at the bakery since you have been visiting? What is your favorite item?

PEACH PIIIE! We have had a lot of request for whole Peach Pies, this week we are taking preorders for pickup Saturday and Sunday (we can do pickups at the Stafford farmers market if you go!) DM or call the shop and we’ll get you set up!

TOMORROW: Peach Cinnamon rolls made with fresh local peaches! 🍑 🍑🍑 Lots of delicious and beautiful baked goods ready for you tomorrow! If you’re a loyalty customer keep an eye out for your deals! OPEN 10a-2p. We will not be at Long Family Farmers Market tomorrow but will be back next week!

NEW LUNCH MENU!! Starting tomorrow we will have our new lunch menu items available! Benny & Joon is BAAACK! Why the name? One of Kathy’s favorite movies contained some dedicated grilled cheese work iykyk. Ours comes with fresh sliced apples like a charcuterie board style grilled cheese 🧀 Summer Tomato sando is pretty much the best summer sandwich you can have, amiright? Hate tomatoes? Ok, ok, try the instead! House made thousand island, chickpea pastrami, kraut and mustard on our deeelicious rye-style bread! See you tomorrow!!

Testing a few new things to mix up our food menu seasonally… thoughts? This is a hot pastrami made with which is wheat, soy and nutfree! 😱🤯 It’s so tasty! Topped with house made thousand island dressing and fresh sauerkraut. We are also brining back the Benny & Joon for a limited time as well! Have you had our Benny & Joon? Classic white bread grilled with vegan cheddar cheese and fresh sliced apples. Sound odd- believe me, it’s deeelicious! Would you try either of these??

Rolling into a new week we are carrying over our weekend flavors cause they hardly got a chance to shine. Cupcakes: Strawberry Hibiscus and Death by Chocolate! Scones- Apple Spice and Peach. Muffins: Chocolate Chip Zucchini and Blueberry.

We are back at tomorrow morning! We’ll have several while deeeelicious pies available as well as other assorted treats. We’ll be on a hot weather set up so just ask us what we got or check out the menu board! Bakery is open with lovely AC from 10a-2p! Fresh batch of pop tarts and pretzels ready for ya tomorrow!
