This city shelter has very low staff, low city funds, no vet and high dog and cat dumps. 😢. Animals have less time here. No fancy millions of $ shelter building nor high paid staff. They are trying to make improvements but very low city budget. They rely on volunteers and rescues to help them.

We have been helping them for over 30 years with posting on our website before social media, transporters and many rescues that need more vet care (cost us more $) then other well funded shelters.

💜🥰. Donations are greatly needed for high vet bills, emergency boarding and supplies that we have purchase. A few emergency vet bills have greatly decreased our donation funds. Adoption fee rarely cover actual vet costs, boarding and supplies.
Shelters and cities do not cover vet bills for rescues. We rely on kind public donations. We have no building, office, shelter, fancy marketing, and web services expenses. All volunteer kind foster homes and web team. Many foster homes donate food /treats and add home made fresh foods. 💜🥰 Donations help us save innocent fur kid lives and their vet needs from overcrowding city shelters.

We use to save many dogs off PTS (especially large dogs and GSDs) with emergency boarding, but until we can raise more funds, we cannot board until we get our current dogs into dedicated foster homes or adopters. Shelters are over-whelmed but we cannot afford to pay for more boarding. Shelters and private shelters do not pay for emergency boarding. So many healthy and friendly large dogs are PTS at city shelters due to over-crowding. 😢
Public need to stop dumping their dogs and cats! It is the worst we have seen in 33 years of rescue work. No end until people take full responsibility and keep their pets.

Moden, kitten, Emergency vet. $2500.
Snoopy, teen pup, Emergency vet. Tragic. RIP: $800.
One kitten was $11,000 for chest surgery.
Emergency boarding $650 to $1000 per dog per month.
We just paid $15,000 to one vet.
Many others.
Dentals and fox tails surgeries.
It all adds up. All vets have increased their prices 2-3 times higher.

Precious Annie, 9 yrs old, was returned back to us today. 💜😍. Super huge thanks to her hero foster home! They adopted Lumi from us and now helping to foster. Photos from her first couple hours. She is anxious and nervous of change and needs days to relax and adjust. Confusing and sad for dogs to be moved from their home and guardians they had for years. They returned her due to their new baby, now toddler, walking and crawling around home. 2nd toddler moving in soon. 😢

She was fine with 2 other dogs in previous foster home before adoption. But in her adoption home of 4 years, she was the only dog with less experience people or confidence, and they say she barked at other dogs on walks. With this foster home, they are experienced to train her. They will slowly introduce their dog to her. Their dog, Lumi, is highly socialized with other dogs and can read cues from other dogs.

Annie loves treats. Enjoys walks and snuggling.

Sadly, this is yet another case of Covid and new baby return. Very common. People who adopted during Covid and now dumping their once fur toy since they are traveling, back to off site work, or going out more. 😢 Dedicated guardians make plans and adjust for their fur kid and keep as family member. Over crowded City Shelters and other rescues are all getting dumps. Worst time of the year with after Covid with months of super high vacation time. Struggling while city shelters are over loaded. 😡😢

🥰 Gorgeous Luna has been boarding but she will be spending Labor Day Weekend with her previous foster home until Monday. She needs a dedicated foster home, foster to adopter or adopter. She is great with everyone, nice dogs and people. She loves car rides, hikes and lounging at home. Great doggie to relax and watch a movie with. She is well behaved and a super sweetie. Luna wants to be your BFF.

Huge Thanks our 3 volunteers that helped them unload and organize the supplies. Donations greatly help us cut down on the cost of buying food and supplies for our foster homes which cost hundreds of $ for each dog, puppy or cat. With increased high cost of vet bills, the cost is wiping us out of funds. Hooray! Precious Daisy was adopted by her failed foster home. They and their dog all fell in love with her. Now she has WFH guardians, healthy home made fresh food, hikes, and dog buddy.

😢 Poor Galvin, Norfolk Terrier/Yorkie mix, 5 years 5 mos, 12 lbs,
needs a new home. Hopefully a dedicated and committed forever home this time.

Poor Gavin was adopted from us May 2020 but now his adopters want to rehome or return him Aug. 2024. He feels safer, prefers and trust the women first. He did adjust with previous foster home's husband and the adopter worked with him thru the years. Gavin still prefers the lady in home vs husband, though he can walk and feed him. He does alert to home visitors so need to train him with his own dog pen, safe area and introductions. Not uncommon especially for terriers. Some dogs are social butterflies while some, especially terriers, are doing their job to alert of strangers coming into their home. He enjoys his multi walks per day. Cute. They feel he needs a female guardian home only. We recommended dog trainers but they have not hired a trainer yet. 😢 Gavin would be your BFF at home and walking buddy.

Sweetie Lyle, German Shepherd mix, 3 yrs 3 mos, 61 lbs, is still waiting and needs a foster home, foster to adoption home or adoption home. He is very unique looking with one blue eye. We rescued him off a PTS list 5/23/23 and have been paying for his emergency boarding for over a year! He is dog and people friendly. Happy and playful. Smart and knows commands. Loves his walks and hikes.

Donations are greatly needed to help pay for his boarding and other dogs. We pay thousands of $ per month, but cannot afford anymore. Thus we cannot save PTS shelter list dogs until we get all our dogs in boarding into dedicated foster homes. We rely on kind public donations. We get no funding from cities. URGENT. Need Foster Home or Foster to Adoption home.
Poor Annie, now 9 yrs old, need a foster home or foster to adoption home.. 😢 Adoption return due to new baby, now toddler. Need foster home by Sept., since they have another toddler moving in with them. Their toddler tripped on Annie and she corrected her. No bite or broken skin. She just reacted with a "ouch". We informed them of trainers and baby-dog training articles but they still want to return her. 😢

If you truly love the dog as a family member, then you make it work
and set up preventions to protect your child and dog. Sadly, many do not. Thus the reason for high returns due to new baby/toddlers at city shelters and rescues.

Hooray! 😍 Precious Charity was adopted to her loving adoption home. She now has WFH guardian, will get tons of attention, and play dates with other family, friends and previous foster home’s dog.

Huge thanks to her first foster home when we rescued her and her siblings, Noelle and Jingle, at 6 weeks old from a long distant shelter. Thanks to her trainer, Cheryl and home doggie day care, Paws4learning.com, Fremont, when her first foster home had to return to off site work during the week. She is very well socialized and trained. Thanks to all her other foster homes. Charity had many changes due to work schedules and high vacations along her foster journey but now she finally has her forever home. 🥰.

Hooray! Precious puppy Trinity was adopted by her failed foster home. 😍. She fit right in, has same activity energy with their dog and they all fell in love with her. Now she has someone around, daily walks/hikes, healthy fresh foods, and BFF playmate. She and her BFF love playing and snuggling. Life is great!

We rescued Trinity from a long distant shelter as a under-age skinny puppy. 💜 🥰 Thanks to her transporter and foster home for all their TLC. Now she is healthy, happy and very loved. Will start Puppy classes soon. She is smart and lovable.

Hooray! Sweetie Snickerdoodle, now Billy, was adopted to his forever loving home. Now he has someone home and dog BFF to follow and hang out with. He is learning to walk on leash via his harness and doing great. His wonderful guardians, who were also a previous foster home years ago, are experienced and giving him time to adjust and learn. Billy is happy and very loved.

Thanks to his previous foster home for all their TLC. We rescued him with his 4 family members from a long distant shelter. His elderly guardian went into a hospice facility and none of her family were able to take them, so they left them at the shelter. All 5 (incl. mom with 2 pups) went into our super great foster homes, got vet care, healthy and home training. Now they are all loved in their forever homes. They all got their "Cinderella" Happy Story for life! 🥰💜

😍 Gorgeous and precious Luna, German Shepherd, 3 yrs, loved her long car ride and hike. She is doing great at her temp foster but she needs a new foster home or foster to adoption home by 8/20/24. Sadly, her current foster home has to return back to work and gone 10-12 hours days. Luna is well behaved at home. Good and playful with other nice dogs. Crate and leash trained. Friendly and very sweet. She likes having someone around and want to be your BFF.

Hooray! 😍 Precious Katrina was adopted to her forever loving home. Now she has two people to spoil her and dog BFF. They look similar but different color. We are all so happy for Katrina and her new family. Thank you!

💜🥰 Huge thanks to her primary and many vacation foster homes. Katrina was neglected when we rescued her from a shelter (had ear infections, hernia, matted, untrained, unhealthy, and very skinny). Thanks to Quality Pet Spot supplies and grooming for her grooming and spa day. Katrina got healthy with fresh/holistic foods, home training and tons of TLC from her foster homes. She got all her vet care and thrived. Now she is healthy and very loved. Katrina is smart (learned many commands), treat motivated, social, lovable and precious.
