We live in a wonderful time where strong and beautiful porcelains exist, as well as the amazing success of dental implants!

This is a case replacing two teeth that were missing from birth.. it’s incredible to see the transformation. They should last for the rest of this patients life.

This was one of my personal COVID quarantine projects..

Flossin’ ain’t just for gangsters. Anyone can have a legit custom grill.

This was hand sculpted in wax over my stone tooth models, set and kiln dried in a furnace, then cast it in a high gold alloy by myself. It’s possible with most metal colors and patterns.

Hit me up for something special. Custom work is very possible.

I’m tired of pop up chain-dental offices too. If you want service and attention, we are here.

Life, 2020+, has brought huge stress on people and their teeth. Grinding and breaking teeth is rampant. It’s over 3x what I saw in 2019-2018.

Here’s an example case of hope, hard work, planning, and a great smile for the future. It was over two years in the making, but it was done as close as I know to perfect.

Our smile helps us say so much. My team and I are here to help you achieve what you want. Cheers-

Hello Friends and Everyone who can see this! What a strange time, but theres never been a time in my life in which we all need each other more! I am reaching out to my patients with some of the messages, studies, and lessons recently released by experts in the medical field about what I feel we need to do, both Medically, Socially, and Personally.

This virus is a scary one, but it's not the worst that might come in our lifetimes. Two months ago, when my office was on backorder to buy masks and gloves, we could sense something was happening. Now, in our current state of social distancing, and sheltering in place, there are lessons we are learning to keep safe in this moment, but also, how to prepare for a likely inevitable, but more virulent and dangerous spread of a disease.

My first bit of advice is, STAY OPTIMISTIC! The human species has survived incidents and atrocities far greater than this virus could ever become, and we have always thrived. Coronavirus, like countless other virus "species" have been present before our ancestors were born.. our bodies adapt and have a complexly beautiful system of building immunity to new pathogens, and also fighting them should you be exposed to this virus.

The biggest issue with this virus is that, while forever its been commonplace in animals, this strain mutated slightly to be present in us. The best research i've been reading, and the advice from people smarter than myself who might not make national news interviews, says that yes, we need to be careful, and PRACTICE AND PROTECT for this virus and something that could come next year or 20 years from now.

As a Dentist, we have been trained to understand the spread of disease. To my colleagues, we routinely work on patients who have much more serious diseases with insignificant statistics of dentists and most health care professionals being infected, as long as basic health protocols are in place. Colleagues, in any medical profession, please add to these comments, either side of the line.

To my Dental Patients, Friends, and everyone who this can reach.. stay safe, but be optimistic. Medical professionals of every type have been trained to be safe.. but for everyone and their families, take rational caution and sanitation procedures, eat well, get exercise, don't lick countertops or public doorknobs, but trust in our world of sanitation- the food industry, the medical industry, and the extra efforts that stores are taking to make your experience safe.

While human beings can transfer this virus directly, it, similarly to every other virus, is weak outside of a host. While some studies show that corona can live on dry surfaces for many days, thats still laboratory testing to see if a single virus is present. Viruses are generally fragile, and cannot last outside of a warm, live host for more than minutes to hours.

Honors, Praise, and Thanks to our hospitals and "Skeleton Crews" for keeping our system in place. They are todays heroes. Help them and their families as you can. Our social shutdown may take time to get back to normal, but IT WILL, IT ALWAYS HAS.

If you are working from home, temporarily laid off, stuck with your kids out of school, or any family member or friend for that manner.. remember to practice personal time as much as possible, just to keep our own mental health in place. It's been two weeks since my office has closed to non emergency services, and it feels like a month. Im sure everyone is ready to get back to life as normal.. I know I am.

In summary, these are uncertain times, for every person and professional who exists out there. Life will get back to normal soon. Dentists are in a strange category, which would include estheticians, barbers, stylists, ENT's, and anyone working close to your face. This virus is airborne. So, governmental agencies have strongly advised the majority of the medical community, including my office, to see patients on an "Emergency Basis Only". Emergencies can be as simple as a broken filling, unknown pain in a tooth, swelling, and migraines.. but our team, and most offices are ready to see patients that are in need.

I personally believe that we should be clearing this up in a month or so, but it could take many months for life to resume as normal.

Be kind to yourself, take care of yourself, love those close to you, forgive the fact that we might be spending 24 hours a day with people we know and love, but be kind to yourselves and those who you love, and who can help.

Go for walks, learn to cook new meals, work in your yard or house to finally organize that closet you've been putting off, put on sweat pants and watch the Tiger King on netflix! These days will pass.

For those who have read this, I give you my best wishes and blessings, the future prosperity that has to come once our nation is running again, and the patients to endure this "staycation" as long as you can.

Please message me if you have any questions, I'm doing my research daily and i'm happy to share what I learn and what is going on. For patients in Fresno or close, Call the office at (559) 832-8211, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. we have an emergency line that will reach me most hours.

Be Safe, But use this time for the good things that life normally has not allowed us to do. Get your house in order, video chat with family and friends, and wash your damn hands!

Enough, I love you all, and wish everyone the best. Be kind to each other and yourselves. Cheers-

HELLO PATIENTS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU, AND WILL BE, BUT WE MIGHT HAVE ANOTHER MONTH UNTIL OUR PRACTICE RESUMES AS NORMAL. WE HOPE YOU ALL ARE THRIVING DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME!

PLEASE SHARE THIS MESSAGE WITH OTHER PATIENTS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY. I will try to keep this status updated as much as I can.

IF YOU HAVE ANY STRONG WORRY, INFECTION, TOOTHACHE, or anything of the sort, WE WILL SEE YOU, OR CALL YOU WHEN WE CAN!

Our office number is (559) 832-8211. Someone will be checking messages every day or two, but our EMERGENCY LINE is on that message that will reach me directly.

BRUSH YOUR TEETH AND FLOSS IN THE MEANTIME!!! We always say it, but please, for me and my loving staff, do your best.. even if you are watching "The Tiger King" in your sweatpants at home.

We are trying to reach out to you all individually who had/have scheduled appointments for work or cleanings, but for the sake of our country and on the strong advice of many scientists I trust and am continually learning from, our team has decided to work on an emergency only basis. We will get you rescheduled for the future when life is more stable.

Dentists, and all medical professionals, have been taught to assume that "EVERY PATIENT MAY HAVE A CONTRACTABLE DISEASE AND NOT KNOW IT". We call it "Universal Precautions". Our office practices this every day.

That means, that our office, every Flu season, every moment we provide care for you, takes on, and assumes that any given patient may have a serious transmissible disease that they may be completely unaware of. With these precautions, life has gone on as normal.

This includes the sterilization practices we implement every day, for every piece of equipment that ever touches saliva or blood, our countertops, chairs, and all surfaces are cleaned with the highest grade disinfectants proven to stop the spread of viruses and bacteria.

Order a "Sonicool" toothbrush on amazon if you dont have an electric brush already, they are affordable and amazing. Its like a higher end sonicare, but about 36 bucks last I checked.

As advised by our government, the American Dental Association, the CDA, and the CDC, Dentists have been strongly advised to refrain from normal practice, EXCEPT EMERGENCY WORK. As this virus is airborne, dentists and dental patients are at high risk of spreading airborne diseases.

I hate to say it, but a scheduled cleaning, for most people, can be delayed for a month or two. Routine work, like replacing a 15 year old filling, can likely wait until we have an all clear. DENTAL HEALTH IS SOMETHING THAT IS CONSTANTLY CHANGING (we use our teeth every moment of every day) BUT FOR THE HEALTH OF YOU, YOUR FAMILY, OUR STAFF, AND OUR COMMUNITY- We are seeing patients weekly on an emergency only basis until we have an "all clear".

When things are safe, there is a LOT of work that will need to be caught back up on. Our team will be here for you.

We are all sorry for the inconvenience, but we will be here and ready to get you fixed up when our community is less at risk. Again.. IF YOU NEED US.. CALL! Our number is (559) 832-8211. There is an emergency line on our answering machine that will reach me most times of the day. Practice discretion, but if something is wrong, please call. I can at least give you advice on the phone if you have concerns.

Corona Virus is new, and should be something we focus on as a community, in order to protect our loved ones and friends, especially those with high risk issues. I personally think that the practices in place such as social distancing, hand washing, and avoiding crowded public places, is a smart idea until we learn more about this viral outbreak.

Take time for yourselves to find enjoyment, don't get too focused on the craziness of our news networks, and take care of yourselves and your family. We will be back and running as usual as soon as our community is safe.

We miss you all, and give our best blessings to you and your families in this strange time.

Much Love-
Dr. Scott and the entire Schapansky Dental Team!

AN UPDATE FOR OUR PATIENTS:

Given that this is the first week of the coronavirus spread, the California Dental Association, the CDC, and multiple other agencies have pressured/urged dentists to shut down their offices. We are researching, and re-assessing the validity of this threat day by day.

I want to let you know that I am open to ALL (non sick) emergency patients, and have flexible hours. A true dental emergency qualifies as a recurring pain level 7-8/10 or higher with no known triggers, broken teeth, infections in the gums or cheeks, or anything that is disrupting your life.

If you call our office, our message has a 24/h phone number to reach me or my colleagues. If you have a true dental emergency, then contact me immediately. If you have an inconvenience, we do apologize, but dentist and our team are seen as one of the highest risk medical professionals for transfer of this strange new virus.

We have good thoughts and prayers for you all. Our office is so ready to be back to normal. We have a few new surprises in cutting edge technology to show you all once this quarantene ends.

Call me if you need me. If its a small deal, swish with salt water, and get some orthodontic wax to cover scratches. Call me if you need me.

MY BEST to you and yours. Stay safe, ration toilet paper lol.
