20 years have passed, and my journey has been marked by both trials and profound moments of grace. From the struggles of childhood and battles with depression to meeting the love of my life and serving my country with selflessness, every experience has shaped me. Married and raising 5 incredible boys, I now wear glasses and have wrinkles, each a symbol of my journey from high school to military service to academic achievements.

As a scholar and Associate Dean, achieving these milestones and earning a Doctorate felt like an impossible dream. My service, including the harsh realities of war in Iraq, taught me the true meaning of dedication to others and our great country. Confronting recent health issues has been daunting, with moments so near-fatal that fear kept me awake, worried I might not wake up. Yet, despite these struggles, I remain deeply grateful for every breath and every meaningful conversation with my family about our future. Life is unpredictable and precious. Embrace every moment, serve with love, and find strength in the journey.

My soulot mate planned a memorable birthday weekend for me. We had a great time bowling and dinner with the boys for an early birthday and 19-year marriage anniversary celebration. The morning of my birthday, the boys cooked me breakfast. We then had lunch together and they all sang me happy birthday. Later that day, Mrs. Soulot Mate took me on a short trip to Vegas. We took a flight there, grabbed our rental car, checked in our hotel at Resorts World, and had a nice fancy dinner at FUHU. I drank on the flight, at dinner, and at my hotel room since my host sent me champagne. We slept for just 2 hours last night and made it back home this morning to our boys. It was a short but very memorable trip.

We started young and dumb but we learned about love and built our relationship into what it is today. It has been 20 years together today, if someone asked me if i saw this coming, I would have never imagined that I would get a chance to talk to YOU. I have always dreamed of being with someone like YOU, by some miraculous stroke of luck, I actually got YOU. It has been amazing to see you grow and develop into who YOU are. I have the honor to call YOU my WIFE, MOTHER OF MY 5 CHILDREN, MENTOR, SGT/DR./DEAN SARAH, Soulot Mate & Love of my Life. We've had so many adventures, I look forward to many more.

Staying hopeful for a better year... Sarah found out a few weeks ago that she's been dealing with Valley Fever all along. She finally got her meds today. Sarah will be on treatment for 3-4 months.

Sarah is still silly even though she's unwell. She's a fighter, and we know she'll get better soon. We love you.
