Dear Central Unified families,

As we prepare for the return to school on Monday, January 10, 2022, there are a few things we would like to inform you about. As some of you may have recently heard, the State of California is distributing at-home testing kits to all public K-12 students. Central Unified School District has just received these testing kits and will begin distribution this week.

Families will have the opportunity to pick up a kit for each of their students at one of our two distribution sites: El Capitan Middle School and Rio Vista Middle School. Distribution starts Friday from noon through 6 PM and continues Saturday from 9 AM to noon. Please read the attached flyer below for more details.

These at-home testing kits will provide another tool to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19, to keep students in the classroom where they learn best. It is important to note that medical experts recommend you use your at-home test if you are experiencing symptoms. If you test negative but are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, we ask that you please stay home. We will continue to keep our community informed, and we will provide updates on our testing center and quarantine isolation in the coming days.
Please note that at this time these are the only test kits that will be distributed.
