New updates on the treatment room redecor progress!

In the process of rearranging the room at the office.
I am working the week after Christmas, with one or two openings that week. I do have gift certificates. Appointment only, verified referrals and established clients take priority.

Good news! Just a little over a week ago, I was able to get financed for a newer car at Blackstone Toyota with T.K.

I now have much more reliable transportation and am able to resume opening my schedule for some more onsite chair massage and adding back people I haven't been able to schedule due to those limitations. Reach out if you'd like to get on the books!

Since I'm long overdue for an update, I'm practicing primarily at my office. My vehicle has been extremely unreliable and often in need of repair, so I've had to cut back a lot of my onsite chair work for the last year so we don't lose our family's only source of transportation. As soon as I have a more reliable vehicle, I will be more available to travel with my chair again. This is why many of you haven't seen me if you only see me when I'm onsite. I'm still working, just limited range.

So in the seventeen plus years I've been practicing, I've raised my rates slightly, only twice. Accessibility/Affordability are high on my priority list when I consider what I charge. My work is more of a preventative "clinical" treatment than luxury spa service, and that is what I intend. The people I want to reach are those who most need pain management, injury recovery, stress reduction, etc., not simply those who can pay the highest rates. Without coming across preventative care practitioners who were affordable, talented, effective and compassionate, I and many other people wouldn't have benefited from care like massage, chiropractic, reflexology, acupuncture, etc. The people I've come across in these fields who know their worth and still price themselves at an affordable range have been my kindred spirits and role models. It has been very difficult deciding whether or not to raise my rates, but with current costs of living being what they are, I've decided to increase them beginning May 10th. From that point on, my standard rates will increase from 70 an hour to 85 an hour, from 90 for an hour and a half to 110 for an hour and a half, and from 35 a half hour to 50 a half hour. Any existing clients who have a rate set for sliding scale and need to keep that rate for financial reasons, you may continue the same rate, if you have a frequent client discount, and can afford it, please add ten dollars to your current rate starting May 10th. I will still consider sliding scale for new clients as well as offer an adjusted discount for frequent visits.

Hi, for those of you at offices and facilities I'm not traveling to right now due to the omicron surge, who need to get worked on but are on a tight budget, please reach out. I offer sliding scale and would rather you get help that you need than suffer through unaddressed pain and stress.

Just an update, since it's been a while. I am still taking appointments right now, I just ask that clients continue to reschedule if they notice any symptoms or test positive for Covid. Everyone has been really good about that already and I appreciate it.

There are some times on Tuesday and Wednesday that opened up in case anyone wants to book next week, I now have availability.

Also, reminding everyone that the very first covered parking spot facing our door as you turn in the parking lot is reserved for my clients. Sometimes the other therapist's clients might be parked there, if it's taken, you may use the one right next to mine. Those two spots are reserved by her and I.

Hello everyone, at the stage and tier level we are at locally during this ongoing pandemic, I am able to see clients without Doctor's notes. I do have strong covid safety measures in place due to close contact and duration of time indoors. My appointment availability is still somewhat limited to insure appropriate spacing between appointment times. Remember I do not offer walk-ins, but work by appointment only. Please wear a mask to your appointment, if you do not feel well, let me know in advance that you'd like to reschedule. When you arrive for your appointment, you may park in the first covered space next to the driveway if it is available. I am trying to make sure it remains open. Thank you for being so patient and understanding this past year. If circumstances change in regards to covid safety and tier levels I will continue to keep you updated on my availability. Our parking lot may be flooded for a few days. Today I rescheduled my appointments. I'll keep everyone posted as things unfold. They have been working on trying to pump out the water today and will try again tomorrow but it's hard for the crew to keep pace with the rain, and this is deeper than it looks, you don't want to walk or drive through this. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Everyone, I just received an update from the State yesterday that massage services can be performed indoors with modifications at any tier. This does not supersede any restrictions or closures of our respective counties, but for now that is our current status. I am open with limited availability due to the modifications for increased gapping of appointments and reduced traffic for ongoing covid safety. I will still be requesting doctor's and chiropractor's notes of reccomendation to insure the best chances of ongoing treatment for you during this still very active pandemic. Masks are required and I will do health assessments prior to each appointment.

Hi, I normally would not post this here, but my husband's art was stolen from an arthop event in march and we have had no luck locating it. We are still in search of my husband's missing artwork that went missing from the restaurant La Maison downtown after the arthop event in March. The owners allowed someone other than my husband to take his artwork and it has not been returned. Please share this post, and let us know if you have seen these paintings, I am making the post public. At this point we are considering these pieces to be stolen.

Just an update, our county is still classified as widespread regarding the coronavirus, and the only exception for practicing massage therapy services that has been very recently granted by the State for indoor treatment, is if you have a note from your doctor or chiropractor recommending massage.

Until further notice, personal care services in California counties on the covid watch list longer than 3 days, have been ordered to close. Massage Therapy is one of those personal services affected and Fresno County is one of the many counties mentioned. Unfortunately this means I will be closed until we are off the watch list long enough that the State and County health departments allow Massage Therapists to resume operations.

Official notice emailed to massage therapists in California today:

"Personal Care Service Closures
Governor Newsom announced on July 13, 2020, that counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for three consecutive days must close indoor businesses, which includes those offering personal care services as of July 13, 2020, “unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up.” It has been interpreted that working outside is working outside of your establishment, so if you are required to have an establishment license, you are most likely not allowed to work outside. We are working to clarify whether any personal care services can be performed outside and will let you know what we find out.

In addition, there is no date or time period associated with the mandate. This applies to all businesses and professionals who are classified under the Personal Services Guidelines, which includes “esthetician, skin care, and cosmetology services; electrology; nail salons; body art professionals, tattoo parlors, and piercing shops; and massage therapy (in non-healthcare settings).”

Per the County Variance Info Webpage, the following counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for three consecutive days and are now required to pause all inside business operations include: Colusa, Contra Costa, Fresno, Glenn, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernadino, San Diego, San Joaquin, Santa Barbara, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tulare, Yolo, Yuba, and Ventura Counties.

Furthermore, as of July 13, 2020, the county attestation process has been paused and no further county attestations will be accepted at this time.
