Fresno State Winery attended the annual West Coast College and University Wine Festival and Competition hosted by Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria! We received Best in Show, Gold, two Silvers, and Bronze for the five wines. Congratulations student winemakers! We have swept two years in a row!

On the 16th of April, Fresno State Winery poured our finest wines with our Food Science Department at a reception for food scientist, author and television host Alton Brown.

What a great opportunity for our students!

Fresno State Winery bottled 13 wonderful new wines last Friday and Saturday. Our students did a great job making some our best wines yet and our seniors blended a stunning Graduate's Reserve to commemorate 2024 Fresno State graduates and their families. A new addition to the lineup this year is the 2023 Saviez Vineyard Fiano, a rich Italian white wine aged in French and American oak barrels.
As another academic year comes to a close, thank you for your support in providing our students a great educational experience and the opportunity to work in the Wine and Grape Industry in the Valley and throughout the world.

Everyone raised a glass at Fresno State Winery's Taste of Spring on April 19 as we kicked off the annual Vintage Days celebration. Students showcased their passion for winemaking to delighted guests on a perfect Spring day. Thanks to the hundreds of wine lovers who came to support our students and enjoy the many fine wines they make.

Fresno State Viticulture and Enology students poured their wines at the Clovis Wine Walk, the Whole Vine Festival, and the Gibson Farm Market Fall Festival last weekend. Everyone loved the wines and we are very thankful for the support from the community! Thanks to our students who work so hard to produce these fine wines and represent them to the public. Go Bulldogs!

Fresno State Student Winemakers have almost finished the 2023 wine grape harvest. We have produced some of the finest wines ever with our current class of students! These include the new Fiano from the Saviez Vineyard and the return of our Sonoma Pinot Noir. This has been one of the longest harvests on record and we are so proud of our students!

Thank you to all who came out to our Vertical Party featuring our Pinot Noir, Placida Vineyards 2019, 2020 and 2021 vintages! Everyone had a wonderful time! We hope to see our wine club members on October 6th for their pick-up party!

Fresno State Enology students went on a field trip to Amador County to see their Zinfandel Vineyards in the Shenandoah Valley! Special thanks to Fran and Jeff Sargent for giving our students an inside look at grape growing in the Sierra Foothills. Also, thanks to Larry, Linda and Michael Long for spending time with our students and the wonderful wines they produce at Amador Cellars, and to Jeff Runquist for a great tour of his winery!

Our viticulture and enology students took part last weekend, in the West Coast College and University Wine Festival and Competition at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. Fresno State Winery received two gold, one silver, and three bronze medals in the wine competition. We also received best in show (white wine) for our 2022 Saviez Vineyards Vermentino.

Thank you Dean Abel, Alfredo, Nick and all of the Allan Hancock students for your hard work in making this event happen! This was a great opportunity for students from all schools and a chance for our students to show their extraordinary wines on California's beautiful central coast. We look forward to next year!
