In 2021, I proudly became a U.S. citizen, opening a new chapter in my journey toward public service. Today, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Fresno County Board of Education!

I am running for office because my life has been profoundly influenced by national, state, and local policies. Growing up as a Spanish speaker with parents who did not speak English, I navigated a challenging education system in Fresno. Thanks to dedicated teachers who supported my mother throughout my educational journey, I was able to overcome many obstacles. Despite my father's tireless work as a farmworker, college seemed out of reach due to our financial constraints. However, the passage of AB540 allowed me to attend college with my mother's modest savings. Later, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) enabled me to work and receive financial assistance, making higher education attainable.

I pursued a degree in Political Science at Fresno State while working as an After School Program teacher at Biola Elementary and tutoring rural students in English and Language Arts. This experience revealed the challenges many parents face in navigating our school system. Determined to make a difference, I obtained an M.B.A. in Public Administration to become a more effective leader and drive meaningful change.

While progress has been made, our parents and students still need significant support. I am committed to finding practical solutions that prioritize our students and their families. My vision is to create a future where every student can succeed, regardless of their background or financial situation.

Join me in this journey to make a positive impact on our community. Learn more about our campaign, and if you can, contribute to help us engage with our community from now until election day in November.

Thank you to the many mentors, friends, and family members who have supported me throughout my educational and professional journey. I am dedicated to creating positive change for our students, teachers, and families.
