Title: Garfield, the Complete Cat Book
Author: Shep Steneman
Reviewed by: Sammy the Cat

In my advanced age of countless naps and serene indifference, I stumbled upon Garfield, the Complete Cat Book by Shep Steneman. I figured, why not trade a bit of napping for some reading?

Garfield, the rotund, lasagna-devouring tabby, is a character I can appreciate. His unapologetic laziness and disdain for Mondays hit close to home. The book is packed with Garfield’s antics, his sardonic humor, and his interactions with his hapless human, Jon, and the dimwitted dog, Odie. It’s a decent portrayal of the life of a cat—minus the lasagna obsession, which seems like a lot of effort.

Steneman’s dry humor and the illustrations capture Garfield’s essence perfectly. The pacing is relaxed, just the way I like my days. His wisdom on napping and general loafing about is spot on.

In summary, this book is a light read that brings a smirk to even my perpetually indifferent face. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a nap to get back to.

Rating: Three out of four paws.

Reading is one of the best summertime activities children can do to keep their skills sharp for the next school year. Reading just four to six books keeps them from losing the reading abilities they gained last school year.

Title: Cats in the Sun
Author: Hans Silvester
Reviewed by: Jasper the Cat

Purr! I’m Jasper, a cat with a mischievous streak. My human left “Cats in the Sun” by Hans Silvester lying around, and I decided to give it a look. Boy, am I glad I did!

This book is packed with stunning photos of cats lounging in sunny Mediterranean spots. Silvester really knows how to capture our best angles—relaxed, carefree, and basking in the warmth. Each picture is like a little slice of feline paradise.
The images are so vivid that I could almost feel the sun on my fur. They’re a beautiful reminder of the simple pleasures of life: finding the perfect sunny spot, stretching out, and just soaking it all in.

If you’re a human who loves cats, this book is for you. And if you’re a cat like me, it’s pure inspiration for your next sunbathing session. Now, if you’ll excuse me, there’s a sunbeam calling my name.

Rating: Four out of four paws—because we cats know how to enjoy the sun in style!
