Welcome to Mountain Harvest Homestead with the Inman Family! Join us as we transition our beautiful Alaskan property into an urban homestead. My name is Michelle and I love creating, crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking from scratch with my boys. This spring we get to add chickens and a garden!

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip cookies with Vanilla Salt sprinkled on top 🍪 My Aunt sent this recipe to me recently and they sounded amazing so I tried them out today! OMG delicious! The chocolate to cookie ratio is outstanding and adding the sprinkle of salt on top to get that sweet/ salty flavor combo is a must. I have a new favorite choc chip recipe y’all! Ryan gave these out to his teacher and bus driver for their gifts with a homemade card.

Strawberry Vanilla Jam ❤️
I wish you could smell my house right now!! This evening I made beef bone broth from leftover bone in roast that I didn’t want to go to waste.
Together with the leftover roast, I placed a whole head of garlic (peeled, whole cloves), one onion rough cut, 3 carrots, celery leaves, pepper, rosemary, thyme, and 2 bay leaves. I placed all of these in my pressure cooker and voila! Bone broth! It’s a little different every time I made it, but turns out amazing no matter what. I also do this for chicken carcass after we’ve eaten a rotisserie and Turkey carcass after thanksgiving!
Cody commented that this broth would have been divine on top of Mt. Denali hahaha he had to settle for dissolvable broth packets loaded with salt 😂
Cody requested chocolate pie for dessert tonight! My recipe starts with an Oreo cookie crumb crust and is layered with a dark chocolate pudding, fresh vanilla bean whipped cream, and a chocolate shaving on top. Bon Appetite 🤌🏽
Gosh I just love home baked sourdough, today I added fresh thyme and rosemary to go with our Easter dinner and it was such a delicious pairing 🥖
Let’s talk Cupcakes!! I made these for my dear friend ‘s baby shower before I left Alaska. These are dark chocolate cake with espresso buttercream and caramel drizzle alongside a spiced carrot cake (nut free) and refreshingly light lemon cream cheese buttercream!

Foraging for 2020 cranberries to put in our low bush cranberry banana bread! Ryan and I won second place at the Alaska State Fair for our bread recipe and had so much fun competing 🫐 I love to locally source and forage for natural ingredients, when we were still in Alaska we picked berries every fall. I look forward to finding local berry sources in Texas to try out!
Cody’s mom is in town for her 60th birthday and we’re celebrating with one of her favorites, Key Lime Pie!! W helped me whip up this tasty treat today 🤩

I know there’s cool temps on the horizon for Houston this week, but it smells like sunshine and springtime in my kitchen!! Just made a batch of lemon curd from Meyer Lemons and holy moly, it’s DIVINE ☀️ 🍋 Here are some sneak peek photos, I will have 5 jars ready for pickup tomorrow!
These are made with 5 simple ingredients- Lemon, egg, sugar, salt, and butter. Delicious with yogurt, biscuits, scones, ice cream, pancakes, etc and it’s also great for making lemon pound cake!
$8 per 1/2pint jar- a little goes a long way with this concentrated goody-goodness. You’ll want to keep in the fridge and use within about 2 weeks.
