Kathryn Hennington Breaux was born on July 1, 1971, and entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 27, 2023. Kathy was a proud wife, mother and new grandmother. She loved entertaining her friends and family and was always the life of the party. She had a larger than life personality and never met a stranger. ***Cancer Awareness Month - September***
September holds a special significance as it was officially proclaimed as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in 2012. The gold ribbon, which has become a globally recognized symbol for cancers that affect children and adolescents, represents their resilience, bravery, and the hope for a cure.
It is devastating to learn that every year, nearly 400,000 children across the world receive a cancer diagnosis, and the diagnosis rate before the age of 20 is almost 1 in 285 children. These young fighters undergo grueling treatments, which can have long-lasting physical and emotional effects not only on them but also on their families.
By raising awareness for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we aim to promote education about the prevalence of childhood cancer, its impact on children and families, and the need for research to find better treatments and cures. It is essential to show support for these brave young fighters and their families by advocating for their needs and spreading awareness about their struggles.
