It was an amazing turnout yesterday at our 2nd annual “Battle for the Paddle” gumbo cook-off- great food, fun, music to benefit a great cause!

We honored our first woman veteran grant recipient, and her family, yesterday. It was an amazing feeling being able to help this family with financial assistance for Alzheimer’s care for their mother. Many of you may not know that a lot of memory care residential facilities are not covered by insurance, it is private pay, therefore causing a financial burden or hardship on the family. Room & board alone is usually around 5 or 6k, PER MONTH. Proceeds raised will be donated to assist our recipient.

Thank you to everyone who cooked, donated & attended our event so that we can make a difference in women veterans lives!
