We are changing our name to Arise!

Why are we changing our name might you ask?
Well, we have debated on it for the last year because we felt like our name didn't encompass all that we do anymore. We help people with more than just chiropractic care- the functional structure of your spine; we also help through Functional Health(Medicine) and Functional Neurology.

The definition of Arise is to rise up, to emerge and our mission is to do that with your health. Raise it up to a higher functional level and allow you to thrive so you can enjoy the life you have to live longer and happier.

⭐️New Year, New Goals⭐️
It’s important to remember that as you start makings simple changes to reach the goals that you have set for the year to be forgiving with yourself. It is difficult making changes and yes, there will be times when you mess up. Everyone has those mistakes, but getting up and continuing to take steps in the right direction is ultimately what helps you get where you are trying to go.

Take it one step at a time and if it helps look up at the big goal, because sometimes that is the motivation it takes for that next step.

The last quarter of the year, it is important to come in and get your adjustments to help your body adapt to whatever it may come in contact with.

These are just a couple examples of when we will combine cranial sacral therapy with chiropractic adjustments to help babies. We do this by releasing the tension connected to the dura (dural tension) which surrounds our nervous system.

This helps give more movement to the mouth and tongue for these babies making breastfeeding easier or those needing a tongue-tie revision- more successful.

Dr. Kendra is officially on maternity leave being taken care of at home by Gunnar as Dr. Garrett takes care of our VMC family! Time has flown by as we now await the arrival of our peanut with anticipation to see if we have a baby boy or girl!

Dr. Kendra is doing great mentally and physically which just makes her a bigger advocate for couples to go through the .protocol before trying to have kids! You don’t have to be struggling with conceiving to go through it, you just have to want to be your healthiest self and give your healthiest self to your children to do so.

We will update you all when we have an update to give! All prayers for a safe & smooth birth are welcomed 😊

Pupillary light reflex is a window into our autonomic nervous system (ANS).

When looking at the pupillary light reflex, researchers and doctors will likely measure constriction latency (how quickly your pupils get smaller), constriction amplitude (the actual change in pupil size), and constriction/redilation time (the amount of time after the light is removed to return to its normal size).

This information gives better insight as to how the parasympathetic (rest and digest) system and the sympathetic (fight or flight) system are functioning.

Nothing brings more joy to me then working with neurodivergent kids.

The number one question I typically get is, how can a chiropractor help my child that is neurodivergent?
Well I have spent over 5 years of studying and sitting for a fellowship exam to specialize in working with this population. One because I believe more can be done for them than the current model says (because there are so many factors that play into how we can improve their function and allow these kids to be able to express themselves better) and two because I know that the brain is extremely adaptive, constantly taking in information, processing it, making a response, then finally refining that response to make it better next time. So…..How I help these kiddos as a chiropractor is by utilizing different tools/modalities to help these kids process information better and help them produce a better response using primitive reflex integration, postural integration, sensorimotor integration and more.

The results we see from it are amazing and it fills me with joy when these kiddos personality start to come to life.
