Who wants a popsicle party at recess??? I know your child does!!!
PTA is kicking off the year with a cool membership contest! The grade level with the highest percentage of PTA members by August 30th will get a popsicle party at recess first thing in September!
I'm happy to report that I've already joined PTA this year, and hope you will too. Hicks PTA dues are only $13/year and make a HUGE impact at our school, so please follow the link below to join TODAY!
If you have not yet filled out your Back-to-School Packet with PTA, please do so asap- this is where you: update your profile for the new year, pay your annual class party fees, and order your FREE Field Trip shirt for your student(s)! (THE LAST PART IS JUST 1st-5th GRADE)
The PTA is not just for volunteers (although we LOVE our helpers), and you never even have to come to a meeting, unless you want to vote on how PTA will support Hicks. Join today and help make a difference at our school.

Hicks Families,
Mark your calendars! We will be celebrating Kindness Week district-wide the week of September 16-20th. See the attached photograph for our spirit days for that week.
Additionally, Kindness Shirts are now available to order. If you would like to order a shirt for this school year, click the link below. If you order by August 19, your child will have it in time for Kindness Week. However, shirts will be available for purchase for the entirety of the school year. The district celebrates Kindness Mondays, where we encourage our Timberwolves to wear the district Kindness Shirt (or any kindness shirt) every Monday!

Hicks Families,
Thank you for your patience and understanding with our A/C issues today. I am happy to report the problem has been fixed, and the building was already noticeably cooler this afternoon and evening.
We will be ready to welcome all students back to the building in the morning!
As always, thank you for your support of Hicks!

Principal
Hicks Families,
I wanted to let you know that our campus is currently experiencing issues with our air conditioning unit. The LISD Facilities team is onsite working to resolve the issue. At this time, it is unknown when the A/C will be fully operational and as a result we will allow families to pick up their students starting now. We ask for your patience as we complete the check-out process, which could take a little bit of time.
If you would like to pick up your child, we are dismissing students to their parents or guardians through the cafeteria. Students cannot be released to another adult without parent/guardian permission. If your student will be picked up by another adult, please email those details to [email protected]. Please be prepared to show a picture ID when picking up your child.
We understand that this is a disruption to your day, and apologize for the inconvenience. If you are unable to pick up your child, I want to assure you students are safe and well taken care of. We will ensure everyone eats lunch.
We will continue keeping you informed of any updates regarding the situation.
As always, the safety of our students here at Hicks is our top priority. Thank you for your patience and flexibility.
