Juneteenth signifies a powerful moment of recognition. Just as therapy’s healing power lies in 'being seen,' so does the importance of acknowledging this day. This Juneteenth, let's commit to seeing each other fully, honoring our shared struggles and victories, and recognizing the places we have sustained harm and hurt. Let's embark on the journey of reparation together, with open hearts and minds. Let’s be there for each other. ⚡❤️

Finishing off our three part LGBTQ+ Affirming Care Series with Part 3: Specializing in LGBTQ+ Mental Health Care 🌈 While some may argue that therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals is similar to that for cisgender heterosexual individuals, this overlooks the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. Discrimination, stigma, and societal inequality contribute to higher risks of mental health conditions among LGBTQ+ individuals.
Our course dives deep into the specialized care needed for this community. We are offering this course free of charge! Plus, you can earn 1 CE credit with a donation. Together, let's increase cultural competence and create a safer mental health space for the LGBTQ+ population.
Join us in making a difference today!

Mental health is quite the worthy and unpredictable adversary, wouldn't you agree?
(Spoiler Alert: Yes, indeed it is.)
However, just like our favorite mythical creatures with their rich lore and tales, there are patterns waiting to be uncovered with a bit of investigation and understanding. Gathering data can help make sense of those seemingly random shifts in our moods, anxiety levels, sleep patterns, and triggers. We often only start contemplating our mental well-being when scary or uncomfortable happens to us.
So the question stands. How often do we wake up feeling amazing and try to figure out what shifted?
It's not a common occurrence, but it should be! Whether or not you're actively involved in other healing practices like therapy, becoming attuned to what nurtures your body, recognizing recurring patterns, and identifying potential triggers are all valuable insights to have about yourself. ⚡️❤️

Here at Gather & Grow, we admit to having a fondness for candles, the soothing crickets of a sound machine, and our neutral color palettes. While our aesthetic may lean towards 'Spa-Core', our inspiration is intentionally more subversive. We understand that we don't live in a world of 'good vibes only', and we firmly believe that the work of healing must acknowledge this reality.
As we celebrate Pride Month, we reflect upon and recognize the progress made by our diverse and vibrant LGBTQ+ community. But Pride is not just about celebration; it's also about acknowledging the work that still needs to be done. Pride began as a riot. The Stonewall Riots of 1969, a watershed moment in LGBTQ+ rights history, remind us of the power of, ‘building communities of resistance,’ and the ways that we gather so that we can grow together!
Let us use this Pride Month as a time to promote love, respect, and solidarity.
Join us tomorrow (June 8) at the Mission Viejo Pride Fair from 11am-2pm. We have a table there and would love to meet you all!
This is a free, family-friendly event. ♥️ 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈

Are you ready for Part 2: Foundations of an LGBTQ+ Inclusive Practice 🌈 Did you know that the percentage of US adults identifying as non-cis-heterosexual has risen from 5.6% in 2020 to 7.1% in 2022? And among young adults under 30, it’s as high as 17%! It’s clear: this community needs support.
Our second course in the three part LGBTQ+ Affirming Care Series lays the groundwork for creating inclusive practices. And guess what? It’s completely free! Plus, you also have the option to earn 1 CE credit with a donation. Every little bit helps make a difference.
Let’s work together to create a safer, more culturally competent mental health field for the LGBTQ+ community.
