Kinetic sculpture that references the Coosa River now on display in Downtown Gadsden The sculpture, by Harry McDaniel of Asheville, North Carolina, features fish-like forms that turn and shift with the wind.

We are looking forward to this sculpture by Harry McDaniel being installed in the coming days in Downtown Gadsden. Thank you to the Alabama State Council on the Arts, Downtown Gadsden Inc (Kay Moore), The Mary G. Hardin Center for Cultural Arts, Greater Gadsden Tourism, Etowah Chamber, Jason Wilson, Gadsden Museum of Art, City of Gadsden, and Phillip Williams for helping to make this possible!

The Gadsden Public Art Project has selected an artist to create a kinetic sculpture to be placed Downtown in the Spring of 2023! Thank you to our community partners and the Alabama State Council on the Arts for supporting this project and to the Gadsden Times for the story.
Art in the outdoors: Public arts projects planned to enhance city, county McDaniel's winning proposal will be a wind-powered kinetic work, fabricated in brushed aluminum.

Locally funded renovations to exterior of Walnut Gallery currently in progress The Walnut Gallery in downtown Gadsden is closed because of renovations. See what executive director Mario Gallardo had to say about the project.
We will be closed for the remainder of this month as we restore the gallery's exterior, but we are working on many projects, including creating virtual art education modules, more public art, and community workshops.
