Gainesville Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork

Offering relief from neck, shoulder, and hip pain.

11/04/2023

I'm super excited to be offering a handful of FREE massage therapy sessions this week.

If that sounds too good to be true, let me explain real quick:

1. Yes, totally free.
2. Massages are 30 minutes by default, but you can add additional time for a small fee if you want to receive more benefit.
3. You are not obligated to book additional sessions with me after your free massage. Almost all my clients DO want to book again with me, but I never pressure anybody-- it's all up to you and your health goals.

For those that don't know me, my name is Michael Schneeweis, Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of Gainesville Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

Ok but here's the catch - If you want that free 30 minute massage, I do require that you fill out a short application (1-2 minutes) so I can get a better sense of who you are and what you're after.

Tap the "Send message" button, or leave a comment below to get started on your application.

I do this because I only want to work with people who are serious about their health and see massage therapy as a health intervention.

At the end of the day, your body and mind are a really big deal, and I take this work very seriously. I hope that you feel the same, and want to just make sure these free massages are going to the right people.

So if you're ready to get started, just tap the "Send message" button somewhere near this video, or leave a comment on this post and I will send you that application and get you booked in ASAP.

Talk to you soon!

I want to share an observation because I think it might help you.

One of the things I see a LOT is clients with “stuck” muscles in their back that limit the fluid motion of their spine. If you do a lot of sitting at a desk, in a car, on the couch, chances are there’s one or more segments of your spine that’s a bit stuck.

Over time, this can lead to muscle pain or even a feeling of lethargy, like things are physically stagnated or “closed off.”

To evaluate yourself and see how your back is doing right now, here’s something you should try (don't do this if you have a serious, acute back injury):

1. Stand up and slowly tilt your chin to your chest.

2. Then slowly continue the curving of your spine near your shoulders (your thoracic vertebrae), by continuing to lower your head towards your feet

3. Continue on through your lower back (lumbar vertebrae), until you’ve bent over

4. Slowly roll yourself back up, until you’re standing.

Ideally, your spine should move easily and fluidly through this motion.

This is a great exercise to do every day to open your spine and promote general mobility.

And if you find that your back is quite tight, I encourage you to book a session with me where we can free things up for you.

So far, my clients who have experienced the back protocol I offer (which includes a full body “reset”), have been absolutely amazed by how effective it is.

If you’re ready to experience the benefits (better energy, better alignment, better mood, less muscle pain), just tap the "Send message" button or leave a comment on here and and I’ll get you taken care of.

Cheers!

Shoulder pain is rough. I had REALLY bad shoulder pain for close to a year before I went to massage school. After school, I followed up with some additional training specifically for how to treat shoulder pain.

I'm so glad I did all that. What I learned totally changed my life. Before I started, I was honestly worried about massage as a career because I thought, 'I'm in so much pain, I don't know how I'm physically going to be able to massage people."

But really, I was worried about my whole life, because I could hardly lift my arms.

But I learned some really amazing things along the way, and thankfully, bit by bit, my shoulders started feeling better.

I learned that a whole lot of shoulder pain (and other pain) stems from little, treatable areas in the muscles...

Because like so many people, I used to think that serious shoulder pain must be coming from a serious injury.

But that's really not always the case. A lot of the time, pain is triggered by little parts of muscles that just need some focused attention and love. Once those trigger points are tended to, pain levels decrease dramatically and sometimes disappear altogether.

That's how it's been for me. And that's how it's been for a ton of my clients.

Massage is great. The relief is really valuable. But for me, the biggest thing has been my change in worldview around my own pain and others' pain.

When pain comes up for me now, I panic less. I see it less as a permanent burden, and more as a call to knowledge and action.

You may be in pain, but you're not necessarily "injured." It may be overwhelming, but things can change for you. You're not broken.

If you have shoulder pain, I just made a youtube video that shows how you can do some self-massage and movement to help reduce your pain.

Leave a comment below or send me a message if you're interested and I'll send you the link.

Take care everybody
-Michael
