As a long-term employee of UF Health Mr. Romick, has given so much to our hospital. We were happy to finally give back to him. When I met him, his fibrosis was rapidly progressing so we made the decision to do an expedited inpatient eval. In our Cardiothoracic ICU, he rehabbed and got stronger. He is now just about to celebrate his 1-year lung transplant anniversary. -
Interview with Randy Craft who is a little over 2 weeks after his transplant. Listen to his amazing story of being very functional to becoming very sick and in desperate need of a transplant.

Special Day today. We discharged Frank after his lung retransplantation. Retransplantation for lungs is not very common as it is a very difficult surgery. It wasn’t easy, but he totally rocked it! So privileged that he trusted me to be a part of both of his transplants at two different centers! ❤️❤️ Congrats Frank!
I am a registered organ donor.
If my brain has died, I’m done with my body. Give my organs to whoever needs them. Whatever still works, is up for grabs. I won’t need them. If you’re an organ donor, please copy. I’m curious to see how many of my friends and family are donors.
❤️
This is Lanty. He is our New Years transplant. He is 68 years old and received both a lung an liver. He has absolutely rocked it! Amazed at his success and the success of our program. ❤️❤️
No one thought Harry would make it to transplant. He was just that sick. However he fought back and exceeded all of our expectations. After we found out that Harry is an artist. As he gets better he creates more art. So glad that he is almost out of the hospital after his lung transplant!!

Look what I picked up at Target!Don’t hate me. I am an Ivy League Grad and I finally have a college team to cheer for.
Meet Jimmy and Alfredo. You might remember Jimmy as one of my long time lung transplant patients. How wonderful that Jimmy has befriended one of my new UF patients, Alfredo. They are so lucky to have a friend to compare meds, tricks of being a transplant patient and “war” stories of post-transplant care. This picture makes everything we have done to get here worth it:)
I met Clive 1 year ago. He was very ill and we didn’t know if he would survive. Luckily, UF made it happen and he received his heart/lung transplant 2 months after being listed! Not an easy feat! So happy to see him thriving as an outpatient!

Had the most amazing Christmas celebration with the Lung Transplant Team at University of Florida.
As many of you know, I let my patients choose a song to go to sleep to prior to their bronchoscopies. Bryce normally chooses something ridiculously LOUD. Today, being one of the last procedures we will have together in a while he surprised me. He chose his wedding song-“Your Guardian Angel” by the Red Jumpsuite Apparatus. If you haven’t heard it, you should. Knowing what this year has been like for him and his wife, I literally cried in the Bronch suite. I am so happy that you have so many Guardian Angels watching over you Bryce! I am honored to be one of the ones that has been a part of your journey and will always be fighting for you! ❤️❤️
